Welcome to the site!
Sounds to me like your dealer may be a bit shady. Many other folks have submitted orders for V8 SS/RS models, including myself. Just do a search on here. There is an entire thread on orders placed. I got a letter as well as an order number from my dealer. There is no reason that you shouldn't be able to do the same. I am not sure what you mean by the anser ID. Can you elaborate? There should be no reason why you can't get the V8 ordered. As for when it comes in, no ones knows. But if you are ordering a V6-LT when you really want a V8-SS just because you want it sooner, I don't think that's a good idea nor do I think it will matter. If your dealer hasn't submitted the V8-SS order, then I doubt he has submitted the V6-LT order which puts you behind the ~8000 or more orders already placed. Oh and BTW, no one at this point (at least outside of GM) knows in what order cars are going to be produced for sure although there is a lot of speculation. The following post by Scott Settlemire at GM on Oct.29th, with 6,000 orders already submitted, should be reassuring as far as getting a V8 on time:
And none of us is aware of any problems that have cropped up since then, so rest easy about the V8 and stay on your dealer to get it right!

I would love to read your post and help you out but it is unintelligible. I mean no disrespect but a little spell check, punctuation, grammar, and not using ------ in between every sentence goes a LONG way. Welcome to the community, remember, you get what you give.

everyone is not a grammer specialist--nor a typing specialist an any one with any modem of intelligence can read my post----those dashes separate one thought from the next--hard huh???? an although there was a typo in my first message there were none in my second and third -- if you cant read a post and have no want to answer then perhaps you shouldnt answer it all at esp. with derogatory comments---an oh yeah you get what you give

I don't think anyone "KNOWS" when the car is coming. There are only proposed dates for start of production. Your posts are a little hard to read/follow. Maybe using a space to break it all up between thoughts. Kinda like I did. Also, make sure you use the search button to look for topics before posting, or asking a question that might have been, and probably already asked and answered. It saves duplic postings. Take care. |

See back in the day when a "modem" was used to connect to the internet it was generally accepted that the basic rules of grammar apply to posting on an internet message board. Do you send e-mails like that? Work e-mails? How about your term papers? Do you seperate thoughts with dashes? I think not. I "have want to answer" you but I "have brain pain" from reading your grammAr. You don't need to be a grammar specialist to form a complete sentence or use capitalization properly, you need only to have passed the 3rd grade. When you are asking someone a question you are asking a favor of them to answer, show them some respect by writing them something that is easy to read and gets your thoughts across in the manner that will get you the answer you are looking for.

I would talk to a different dealer, what they're telling you doesn't make sense if I read your post right.

Leatherneck, as I said earlier, your dealer sounds a little shady. My guess (not knowing the dealer or the complete situation) is that he wants to have you order two so he can input two pre-orders. The deal was that dealers could only pre-order cars that were sold and they had to have someone's name and address to put on it. Therefore, by having you put in two orders they could pre-order two cars and that way they would have one earlier than they might otherwise. I am a bit of a conspiracy theorist so that's just my take. Again, no ones knows for sure, but we have credible data that would indicate that the V8 SSs will be out to dealers possibly as early as March. Production of the Camaro officially begins on February 16, 2009. The number you should get from your dealer is a 6-digit alpha numeric order number. It should look like NHGFFX or something to that effect. It might also have numbers in it. If the dealer can't give you one of those, he probably didn't place the order. Keep on them.
