Competitive mode
So if my car is in competitive mode I know it has launch control from a stop but if I'm just taking off hard or start to spin from a roll will it work in the same fashion meaning will it apply the brakes to stop the wheels from spinning for the fastest possible take off.....using the computer of course

I think I understand what you are asking, and yes there are minor brake applications to make sure that the car is not losing control. It depends on the "competition." I understand that it's pretty good for road coursing, but I never use competitive mode when drag racing.....all traction control and stabilitrac off.

Just hold the traction control button down for a few seconds and it will remove both

Punctuation is overrated especially late on a Friday when you're not driving you're car and you have like half a bottle of vodka in you because vodka + cranberry/pomegranate juice is divine or gin + tonic also especially when you want to show your excitement for fast things and roaring engines. Ladies?

So let me get this straight.... You want to know if you are moving at a roll and punch it, will the traction control kick in to stop the tires from spinning?
1. Do you have a stock car? Any mods? 2. What gear are you "rolling" in? 3. Where are the RPMs at the time you want to punch it? 4. Do you WANT to burn out or take off? If you're in first, at about 1500-2000 rpm and you mash the gas... in a STOCK car, it may spin... it may not. Depends on a lot of things. Pavement temp, tire condition, tire temp, pavement surface... These cars in stock form have a lot of torque but also wide, sticky tires and they are HEAVY cars! If you want to do a burn out, listen to what others are saying and hold the button for 7 seconds. If you want to just take of, leave the TC on, get the car moving and mash it.... I suggest learning your car before trying this kind of stuff. All too many times people come on here and ask "How do I..." when just asking the question makes it obvious they are not very experienced with the car and will likely wrap it around a pole. Respect the car, learn to drive it, learn its limits... THEN worry about burnouts and launching! When you do it that way, you won't have to ask on the interwebz how to do it or what the car will do.... |

Sorry about the punctuation guys, it was a friday night and i was pre-gaming with a bottle of peach ciroc. What i was trying to say was if i have my car in competitive mode, and i mash the gas from lets say a 15-20 mph roll. Will the car manage the wheel spin for the optimal acceleration, or just cut 95% of the power like most traction controls do. I know with the launch control, it says it tries to manage the wheel spin from a dead stop for the optimal launch every time, but i was wondering if it works in the same fashion when your already moving.
Its getting colder here on Long Island especially at night, so the stock pirellis just dont cut it in cold weather. Intake only on the mods right now, and to answer the take off question who doesn't want to take off??? Finally to answer everyones question the first thing i do during startup is hold the traction and stability button for 7 seconds, just wondering about this competitive mode, lets just say if i feel like being lazy once and a while. |
