We're going round and round in circles guys.

Offer up something new or let this one die.

As fror the thread, I believe he can drive as well. But there are people in that thread that disagrees. So when that happen, I just took a vid with the same mods, same type of car and posted it. It a shame that some do not believe him, but playing devils advocate, it does seem odd that LMR can not drive the car to a 12.5 with the same mods and is a full 5 secs behind. At least from what I have seen so far.
Was LMR driving? I thought it was the owner (didn't check). I don't think it's odd, especially if there were outside factors (weather, DA) we aren't aware of. Finally, comparing two different drivers is a bit of a hard thing to do.

As well, we know the SS will do a 13 flat stock so I don't know why an intake and tune wouldn't enhance it as long as the conditions are right. We really can't draw conclusions from two different drivers that posted one run each.

Please put this thread out of its misery, we are indeed just saying the same things over and over.

I'm glad someone said it.....

Oh yeah, we've been saying it for the last 400 pages.

Once this one dies, it's only a matter of time before a new identical thread crops up again.

Or you can get a 10 gt500 for below msrp at almost any dealer, some even at invoice. I think its time everyone just accepts now matter how you look at it.....

GT500>Camaro SS

My 97 Trans Am > GT500..........if you want to go there. The GT500 is in a Corvette class, why no mention of that by the Ford fanboys. Go race a Vette, get dominated, and then come back. Of course you all down the SS when it is not even in the same group. Ford guys always have to win so they pick the most ridiculous comparison to stay on top. I paid 18k total for my Trans Am and it will crush the GT500, so if I add 20k more I would equal the cost of a GT500, but that isn't a fair comparison just like the GT500 vs. SS isn't a fair one. And at least Chevy didn't have to go outside and get someone like Shelby to help them with their car, the Camaro is bad ass without any help from another company.

It's not stock.......I was just trying to make a point that you can't compare my 97 Trans Am to a GT500 just like you can't compare a GT500 to a SS.

GT500 - 540hp
Camaro - 426hp
a differance of 114hp

$31,000 (camaro) vs $47,000 (gt500) hmmm ok let me make up the differance by adding $16,000 worth of mods to the camaro then we will run.

kthxbye!

the GT500 is the better platform to make big power on. pulley/tune you are well over 600. KB or whipple you can be over 800 crank. the powertrain is built to handle that kind of power. this can be done on the 07-09 or 10 GT500. me, i like the camaro because of what you get for 30K and some change, but if i had the money, i'd probably go with the shelby.

I will have to disagree with the gt500 being in the corvette's class it is not even the same type of car, the vette is a 2 seater sports car, the gt500 is not a 2 seater sports car.

also the GT500 was developed in house by SVT; they had Shelby put his name on it per the contract to help sell the car. Shelby GTs and Super Snakes are modified at his factory, but the GT500 is built by Ford at their factory
