I have keep posting and I have more to add...
(Actually surprised there aren't many of us on here consifering GM is watching) - I must Stress vents in the back and front bumper. - Halo Lights, Singnal lights in the corner Like concept. - LED side signal lights, thinner Like Concept. - Inerior As close to concept as possible. - Concept Wheels an option in chrome and brushed aluminum This one is for Dragoneye: Make a similar, cost effective color that closely resembles that character from that movie. This is for the people who think I'm brainless: - How about offering a 36 month 0% financing option for this car. - Anyone think the "user friendly" door handles are a little too user friendly? This car isn't for kids. I can't remember which Chevy it was that has that push button handle that you unlock, push a button and then the handle comes out. That should be used on the premium models.

Well, Dragon covered it pretty well so I'll steal his with some edits:
Exterior: * T-tops No biggee to me * I REALLY want a vert and would sacrifice weight and price for a hardtop vert. If not, I guess it will have to be a coupe. * More aggressive hood for the upper trim levels Check * Smaller XM/Onstar/radio antenna (the "shark fin") Check * If it's going to be used on the production car, color coordinate the "shark fin" with the body color Check * The front scoop is one of neat little things we all like about the car (the fact that it's non-functional is a little issue to some, though) BIG issue to me, give me ram-air * At least open the front scoop, even if it's not feeding the engine Check * Make every attempt to not use amber colored directionals for Europe. Use amber bulbs instead? Check Lights/exterior trim: * LED lamps all around INCLUDING side markers, reverse lights and LED turn signal in the side-mirrors * Smaller repeater lamps on the sides Check * Relocate the reverse lamps to somewhere other than the middle of the bumper Not a huge deal but hidden would be better * HALO headlamps (like the concept) TRIPLE CHECK * Keep any daytime-running-lights out of the main Headlight assembly, if possible Check * Side-mirror heaters Check * Offer multiple stripes packages, the Concept Convertible's style, the side "hockey-stick" stripes, and the center cowl-hood stripe Check (see below) * Could the stripes be painted on? Check (see below) * Offer a close-to-Bumblebee yellow (see below) * The Gunmetal grey/steel color on the ZR-1 is HOT! Can we get a very similar color? Pretty please!! (see below) * Can the stripes NOT come as a mandatory option when purchasing higher trim levels? (see below) * Would love to see some of the First-generation colors offered I MUST HAVE Hugger Orange with the dual (Rally?) stripes PAINTED on FROM THE FACTORY (prefer white stripes but the concept vert gunmetal stripes would be ok) * I like both concepts "lip" spoiler, just a tad more aggressive would be nice but you can ditch the "wing" spoiler. * The faux vents in front of the rear wheels. Could those have something done to them to make them look open? Instead of just being indentations Check Powertrain: * LSA or variant. Supercharged 6.2 for the top-of the line model Check * Paddle-shifting with the Automatic transmission Triple Check * Give me massive wheels/rubber but the same size/offset all the way around so I can rotate them myself * All Wheel Drive? * LS3 engine or "better" (pretty please!!) Check * Short-throw shifter for the manual option * Optimize the Exaust note when in 4-cylinder mode Check * AFM-equipped, E85-capable V6 AND V8 engine * 300 hp Direct Injection V6 * Offering a 4-banger...er, 4 cylinder engine, is a good idea for the success of the Camaro. We won't hate you for it. Check * A sport-tuned Suspension /handling package * 4-piston calipers, slotted/cross drilled rotors Check Interior: * Keep the torque gauge Check * Keep the gauges in the console * Heads-up display option (preferably as it's own option) Check * Dash light color option? * Dual-zone Climate Control Check * Auto-dimming mirrors Check * Hands free Bluetooth Check * Homelink, Temp, Direction, and Onstar (possibly all on rearview mirror) Check * Premier sound system: Bose, Blaupunkt, Boston Acoustics, JL Check * Quality materials, (i.e. Not hard plastic everywhere) Check * A few Color accent schemes available Check * 6-disk changer standard? Check * USB drive for memory stick (MP3's type receiver so no more having to use CD's) Check * Please make the manual transmission shifter resemble the Concept shifter (obviously NOT made out of billet aluminum) * Include radio controls on the steering wheel/steering column as well as cruise control controls * Heated seats. Cloth Heated seats? Check, but I'll take leather * Navigation system available Check Pricing/ordering: * We understand the advanced components, and better interior, but please try and keep it affordable (as near to the Mustang as humanly possible) Check * Reduce the "clumping" of options Check * Offer LOTS of accessories/customizable "aftermarket" options Check * IF the options MUST be packaged together, try to separate the performance options from the luxury options (separate packages) Check Marketing: * Highlighting the fuel-efficiency is a good idea * Any ads must make as strong a statement, and be as bold as the car is * Have a little hint about performance, like "Camaro: you'll spend more on tires than you will on gas". And highlight all the different fuel-saving features, AFM, E85(?), etc. General Feedback: * You've been able to keep this close to the concept?!? Wow. Great Job, and Thank you for that! QUADRUPLE CHECK! * The car is coming together really well. QUADRUPLE CHECK! * Thank you for bringing the almighty Camaro back to us! QUADRUPLE CHECK! * Please, spare no effort to absolutely destroy the GT-500 in the Camaro's corresponding trim level QUADRUPLE CHECK! * Thanks for listening to us!!! We really appreciate it, and want you to know it QUADRUPLE CHECK! |

Seriously though, whats the point of having rear fender vents if, technically, they're not functional vents... thats actually really lame...
I can see a nonfunctional hoodscoop but rear fender vents that aren't even cut out??? |

I used to be Dragoneye...

Hey, Kenz - those aren't my ideas. I popped a couple of my own in there, but 99% of all that is from the guys and gals around the boards. And I added your "edits"
Wow, I don't want that to be confused - I'm gonna put something up in the post about that...... |

Kenz, thanks for the second on my commercial idea. Maybe GM will hire us to market the thing ...yeah, right. This thing will basically sell itself in my opinion.

I think this is the most imortant post of all of Camarodom. I think "The List" should be copied and pasted everywere on Camaro fan sites and maybe even put on paper and copied a whole bunch of times spread all over Michigan so that GM gets the clue.
Well, all kidding and foolishness aside: This is really important.

the point of having them is to make the Camaro look more like the 69, and by that I mean making it look cool. The cost of the engineering, including all the proper plumbing plus actually cutting the holes out, its not something that everyone wants to pay. Therefore, the engineering costs will be spread to fewer and fewer people making it a rather premium piece of equipment. Also, its more important to have vents for the front brakes since they do most of the work. And they got rid of the vents for the front all together.

Why not keep the new Camaro as close to the First Generation as possible. After all it was a classic.

As far as the interior goes I was amazed how close the mule photos looked like the concept. Oh yea, some people saw dust, dirt, missing panels and test equipment.
I see the sweeping body-color panel that starts in the doors, through the dash and down the other door - stunning, classy, quality interior. The gauge clusters with the pods sticking up in a nod to 69 Camaro again. I see these fun oriented gauges placed on the console (torque), the console itself, the shifter- Yum! Good old fun time car, yet ground-breaking modern performance. |

Thanks to all who get our opinions in front of GM.
- LS3 or bigger. LS8 if possible. Must destroy the Mustang Shelby GT500s. - Hood scoop needs to be just like the concept Camaro and functional. - Rear wheel fender vents need to be functional - opened up and blacked out. - Rear bumper needs to go back to looking like the concept Camaro. Flatter, no lip. - Backup lights need to NOT be cut into the bumper face. Could be in brake lights, or, like the Corvette, in the rear apron fascia. - The antenna fin needs to disappear - like on the Corvette, or, allow an Option Delete. The "shark fin" is UGLY!!! - Allow at least an option to get the wheels and tires EXACTLY like on the concept Camaro...say on the SS and Z/28 models. - Manual shifter needs to be just like the concept Camaro...a billet aluminum shifter. - Exhaust tips EXACTLY like the concept Camaro - at least as an option. - Door handles - if they can't look as sleek as the concept Camaro, how about something like the Corvette's soft touch door handles...something cool! I'm hoping this Camaro is QUALITY throughout and as much like the sleek look of the concept Camaro as GM will build. I'll pay for that. If it is tweaked to the point it isn't clean and state of the art, I'll be bummed out and pass. I've been on a Dealer waiting list for a year and a half for 2 CAMAROS, based on the design and video footage of the concept Camaro. Don't depart from your original promises to bring us this car almost exactly the way it was first presented. Bean counters shouldn't override your first instincts. The public wants an awesome car and the new Camaro can be it! Last edited by bopar411; 03-31-2008 at 01:56 AM. |

AMEN!! I don't care if you have to relocate it further from the front-clip (see current 4th gen SS models) - the scoop has to BREATHE!!! Quote:
Couldn't have said it better, myself!! We need COLORS, and we MUST have at least a Z/28, and/or SS models!!!!! Quote:
Yes! remember a few choice quotes: "Quality!!" "Don't deviate from the concept, as much as possible!!" "Can you relocate the backup lights off the bumper, please!!" "Offer a trim-plate that makes the rear-fender vents APPEAR opened, just like the '69 ?" PS- although the rear quarter vents were NEVER opened on the '69, the "trim plate" that made it 'look' open was SUHWEET! Oh, and yes, even if you have to negate any, and all of our suggestions, I (and many more) will STILL love the new 'Maro regardless! We are SOOO PROUD to know that it will hit dealers SOON!! TO THE GM AND CAMARO DESIGN TEAM: THANK YOU!! (oh yes, one more time....THANK YOU!!!) FOR RESURRECTING A LEGEND!!!
