try to keep in mind a global view, it's what is getting GM back on it's feet.
I guess all my friends in the military that love cars don't mod and we do make up less then 5% of the population.

you're coming off like I haven't accepted that I'm in the minority. lol. I would prefer the ls9 over the lsa because in over all aspects it's cheaper for me and my friends. BUT if they offered the Z28 with the lsa I would buy it , or a TTv6 I would look at the numbers (not just hp but skid pad, salom and 1/4), determine if I think the modiablity of the car is worth it and then decide what I was going to do.

The z28 is superior to the SS because of it's heritage. and the debate on what engine that should go into it because it's better then the other is pointless because the bean counters will win on that one and we both know it. even though more ls9's that are produced the cheaper the production cost. doesn't matter the lsa is cheaper to start with. but you never know they may debut the GEN V motor. which will be direct injection. or heck it maybe a TTv6. you never know because the unicorn doesn't exist yet. or at least been let out of the box.

point is arguing with me over what engine should be in the car is pointless because you won't change my mind, and I won't change the masses mind either. even though one is far superior over the other. why do you think VHS beat BetaMAX? lol.

hmm ill be down with a TT v6 aslong as the car has minumum 550ponies and 450 tq. but the car has to weigh abotu 3500pounds or less.

but perosnaly the LSA is the best bet for this car.

a DI engine would be out standing for this platform no doubt. smaller displacement could net some outstanding hp numbers and still be able to take a huge shot of nitrous or a good amount of boost from FI. that's truly the engine I wish to see in the car.

You know, there is a chance we wouldn't lose that growl in a turbo V6...I'm going to pay attention to Leno's website for when he drives and documents the car...buuuut....exhaust note has as much to do with cylinders as it does air-output...and 450hp is a lot of air.

We'll probably lose the signature firing pattern sound...but the growl, and roar...maybe not....

Don't count on it. Even this car likely weighs ~3750....
And I think a lot of folks agree with you on the LSA thing.

I've been dreaming of a DI V8....the question is not if, but when....and it's the only model-to-model change that I would wait an extra year for....

Maybe GM built this car just to gage public reaction to a TT v-6 Z-28. It sure is getting alot of attention.

I have a lot of time for your views on the Z/28 Box because I know how educated and passionate you are on the model.

I too (as well as many, many other 1st genners) would prefer to see a V8 in a Z/28 but when I compare this car to the capabilities of my 69 and 70 Z/28's, I really can't come up with a good enough reason why this car could not legitimately be offered up as a Z in the future.

We don't need to see the braking and handling numbers to know there has never been a better performing Z. The suspension components and Brembo set-up make that obvious. If that engine was only 400HP - is that so bad if the car was offered with a 4.10 or 4.56 rear? I would think a package like that would definitely capture the essence of the original Z/28.

for a few reasons other than the engine tho.

1. its Jay leno's car
2. the shit is hot.
3. its at Sema
4. Jay could have thrown a 476ci e-85 motor in there and people would have given it the same attention

They would not offer it with that low of gears though, the purpose of the TTV6 is for power and fuel economy. Think more along the lines of 3.42 or maybe 3.73

...and my idea of a Track Pack option is not only gear set but also fog lights, space saver spare, insulation, caulking and trunk liner deletion (to save weight)
