When should cooling fan kick on?
I have the eforce installed on my SS.
I noticed that when the car was idling the temp. went up to 214 degrees F and the fan was not running. Seamed odd to me. When driving and not being pushed the temp. is normal between 180 and 190 F. Shouldn't the rad cooling fan be running at 214 degrees F ? |

mine don't kick on till around 221.... I thought that was alittle hot but they say it's normal

I agree with calgrown562, from testing many cooling systems in the shop the cooling fan will usually come on about 220-225 and shut off around 195, unless the a/c is turned on then it should come on everytime the compressor engages.

My tuner set the fans to come on earlier than stock. Somewhere around 198 the fans are on full and my temps max out about 203 before falling to the mid 190's. This is while idling only. Your tuner should have set your fans to come on earlier, especially with an eforce installed. You must have a 160 degree thermostat installed for the temps to be between 180 and 190 while cruising.

My fans are set to come on at 192.. Car runs about 195 with a/c in stop and go traffic. 185 without a/c.. But this is true before tune mine came on at 221

Fans will kick in if ECT reaches 212° if a/c is on it kicks earlier.
Normal engine temperature ranges from 194° to 212°. Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2 |
