Borla S Type 11925 and 60610 mouse squeek

Anyone else with the same combo get this sound? Also happens when driving (30-40 mph).

I'm on my 3rd X Pipe from Borla, with no resolution, I have racked up $450 in installation costs.

Is this what I should expect? I'm kinda at the end of my rope.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question but if you hear that when switching engine sound from stealth to sport, wouldn't that be the NPP valve(s) in the muffler and not the x-pipe??

Are you saying switching between Stealth and Sport is open/closing the valves closest to the exhaust tips and not the valves on the X-Pipe?

I'll say it. Yes. The AFM valves won't close or move at idle. But the NPP valves at the exhaust tip will open and close. Try pulling fuse 51. The prevents the NPP valves from closing.

My stock NPP exhaust does the same sound, It's definitely the NPP valve opening and closing.

Perhaps some WD40 or any other type of lubricant may help?

Borla sent me replacement exhaust tips.

Issue resolved. Borla warranty and customer service was excellent. Their reputation is well deserved.

OK - so the mouse squeak is back after 3 months-ish.

Is this expected/normal?

Sounds like the NPP valve - It's constantly opening and closing. I'd recommend trying a fuse pull to leave the valve constantly open for a couple days and see if you still have the squeak.

Its easy to replicate, switching from Track/sport to touring causing the noise.

Go lay under the rear bumper and have a buddy switch thr settings. Its the valve motors. Replace them or pull the fuse thats your options

It's the valves then. They either wear and make noise or they may be oiled from the manufacture to quiet the movement and after a while the oil dissipates and makes sound of the valves more pronounced.

Seems like they could use a beefier valve.
