Add The Garage Door Opener (Homelink?)

Is it possible to add the Garagedoor opener (I think they call it Homelink) to a 1LT?

Is it just a module that plugs into a pre-existing harness in the overhead console?

I did find this thread: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...light=homelink

But the part number listed ( 92235696 ) is for black interior. Anyone know the part number for the gray interior?
Is the Gray interior part number ( 92235697 )? It's the same price as the other but the description does not list a color on gmpartsdirect.com

Thanks!

There is this thread here that discusses it... doesnt look "plug-n-play", but not bad either

Thinking about it myself.

google c 5 creations, i used them on a couple c 5 vettes. you exchange your visor for one with the home link instlled, you would have run a pair of wires, since there no lites on the mirrors. they looking into doing it if the demand is there.

I added the homelink console to my 1SS using the above thread. I prgrammed it to turn my DRL's on and off and open my garage door. The worst part is that gm doesn't include the harness for the transmitter. So you have to solder on a power and ground lead and then find available power and ground sources to tap into to make it work.

Was it reliable?

my older car worked from 30 ft.
any ideas why?
