Not sure if you have been on ZL1 Addons site lately, but they have some really nice bolts/hardware now. You can get them black stainless (backorder) or regular stainless, to replace the crappy bolts they send with the wickerbill.

They are like $20 for the set. I will be ordering them for mine very soon...in black.

How tough are those things? I’d be afraid a kid at the mall would grab it and hang from it or something. Maybe even something worse because, well, people just do that crap.

The Camaro wickerbill was designed by the Z28 Engineers specifically to meld with the Z28 high profile spoiler, highest of any of the Camaro spoilers (much higher than the SS).
It provides downforce at speeds over 40 mph for a noticeable improvement in planting the back end. Race car driver legend Dan Gurney is original developer.
It is an engineering work of art the way the two parts meld together on the Z28 ;-)
In some cases you can adapt the wickerbill to other spoilers. It will reportedly also safely work on the ZL1 spoiler.
I've switched my SS over to use the official OEM Z28 spoiler (direct bolt on plug and play) which I picked up brand new for $125 - if patient bargains are out there.
Notice how the Z28 spoiler follows exact bodylines of the car all the way out to the spoiler wing tips - amazing work of art.
Here is a link to an article showing what the pros have to say about the official Z28 setup:

I know I worry about the same I've had to get my family used to closing the trunk not touching the Wicker bill or spoiler just to be on the safe side

They are pretty tough. But if some asshat wants to do some damage, I am fairly certain they could. I have no faith in humankind.

As much as it looks good - you would have to drill into the spoiler to allow this to bolt on? I would hate to even do that.

Al Oppenheiser and his Camaro Team are the best, that is exactly what they did ... they also took a Dremel to make the Bowtie in to a Flowtie on the front grill. Their skills on tweaking to the limit on the Camaro earned them the "MT Best Driver's Car" Award, and stellar lap times.

I got mine from aerosportconcepts. Yes, you'll need to drill into the stock one...take your time. A second set of hands helps to hold the wb in place while you mark the holes. Once it's on..it's not going anywhere...

Agreed. If I had to do over again, I would definitely have someone help me.
