I just gotta ask,,, why not glass packs?

go ahead and laugh...

I KNOW this is a MAJOR "oh my" but why does nobody use glasspack bullet mufflers any more?
They sure look like they should flow good… you can see straight thru them. (the resonators kinda look like them too)

that means that the mirror is 38.75% the size of the vertical windshield...
it sure seems like the ratio could be better... just sayin....

yea, i guess i'm just too old.
but it would be nice to know!

besides 800 bux for an axle-back "sound system" seems kinda steep.

I've got a glass pack on my 97 Z28. It came on the car when I bought it. It looks horrible, one tailpipe goes through the glass pack and the other just goes around a bend and strait out. I want to get rid of it so bad but it sounds AWESOME. I'm on a business trip right now but I can put up a video when I get home if anyone is curious.

Like Crowley said, you really bring back the memories. I had Thrush on my '69 Roadrunner. The Thrush, Cherry Bomb and Purple Hornies are still available. They're cheap and very low restriction. I'm just not sure their sound is as good as the newer types. Plus I doubt they're made for specific applications, just inlet OD and outlet OD. They probably won't work on newer cars like the Camaro with exhaust gas feedback tubes. One thing for sure though, they are loud!

I'm going to run 'em on mine!

As a founder in an exhaust & muffler manufacturing business, I plan to have some made specifically for my 2SS. Thinking round aluminum muffler body, anti-reversion chamber at the front of the muffler, 2 3/4" perf tube core, 2 1/2" inlets/outlets.

Lightweight and straight through should do the trick.

No plans at this time to offer these as a product, but will likely use them to cross-promote existing products with the interest in the new Camaro.

I thought they would sound good on an LS motor too, but my friend put true duels with glass packs on his and neither of us thought it sounded good at all. In fact he took them off the very next week because they sounded so bad.

I'll hold out for a GMMG chambered exhaust to come out, I love the way it sounds on my 4th gen.

Glad you posted that, Silverghost. Back in the day, they were loud, so I thought they were great, but after hearing many newer systems I didn't think they measured up to today's options. I'll won't be going that route.
