Different ways of installing a catch can?
What is the best way to install a catch can. there are so many different ways im not sure what to do. I have searched and searched but am still unsure as to which way works best. I have a rx catch and the instructions with it are straigh forward, however looking at the DIY PCV cat can thread it shows blocking off the inlet to the intake all together? I dont want oil in my intake!! could someone just give me a look in the right direction.
this is the thread I am talking about http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58475 also, arnt there pcv lines on both the passenger and driver side? sorry If this has already been covered there are so many catch can threads.

Most of the lines are on the passenger side yes.
It doesn't really matter what side you mount it on just as long as the mounting bracket allows you to put it out of reciprocating and rotating parts! You could crudely block plates off but you really want to help the engine breath and recirculate that air and oil. The catch can simply takes the oil out of the air and separates it (if it's a decent can at least). Then the air goes right back in and helps aid in the breathing process. Let us know if that helps or if you need any more specific help...glad to be here. Ivan |

oh ok I didnt know if it would catch all the oil going to the intake because there are a few lines going to the manifold, intake tube, and thottle body. but it seems like all i have to worry about is the "u" shaped pipe.
