Stupid question yay should i get ls3 if i dont know how to drive manual yet

ok so my step-dad said he would teach me how to drive manual on a friends truck, i live in a town where there is a lot of red lights and 30-40-45mph speed limits i want a manual because i never had one and i always envisioned muscle cars being manual i don't know i think my step-dad is trying to scare me off to get an automatic but in my heart i know i want a manual i just have never driven a manual and it scares me to know the camaro has that much power. What if i mess up and shift wrong and blow up the transmission any suggestions guys?

well...ive driven manual for over 7 years... mixed with auto... i have the v6 and its still a fairly brutal thing to get used to... its my second day i have the car and im getting more used to the clutch...
my advice is... if you really want a manual car... and your stepdad will teach you ... you will be fine... just have to take time and get to know the clutch...

goodluck

Once you get a little practice with it, you'll enjoy having the manual much more than the auto. I ordered my car with a manual even though it had been 13 years since I owned one. When it came in, I was a little nervous but it truly is like riding a bike. Once you learn, you never lose it.

My first Camaro was an auto, I loved that car but the experience doesn't even compare to my new one with a stick.

I got mine with an LS3 M6 only having driven manual 3-4 times. Yes you will stall, everyone does when learning to drive manual. It took me about 3 days to be competent enough to drive in traffic without stalling. I am VERY HAPPY I got a manual.

yes the first few days/weeks will be a little nerve-wracking but once you get it down, it's a joy that never goes away. i bought the M6 just so I could row it through the gears - always makes me smile

The only time I wish I had a automatic is when I'm stuck in a traffic jam. That is the only time.... get the manual

Get the automatic. You can always put it in manual mode and tapshift from the steering wheel. A brand new $40K car isn't something you want to be a noob to manual in.
