new toys came today. Variant 3 coilovers, weekend install
hello c5 freinds. my car is 4 weeks old tomorrow. i have been looking and talking to many vendors on the forum and talked with many very nice people on how to lower my car a little and keep ride comfort the best possible and still be able to go agressive if needed. after reading all i could find and talking to the brand reps. i chose to go with the KW variant 3 coilovers. i will be installing these soon and post results. it was a hard choice as there is many very good coilovers out there to choose from. any one with these let me here your opinions.

good choice we have now officially tried every system
KW shock bodies are really good and offered the best compression and rebound combinations we felt and so did some Pro drivers who tested them with us. Best value out there by far. PM us if you need any set up tips. |

We just completed some testing on the Eibach R1 and R2. Both nice systems but we felt the shock bodies on the KWv3 offered more precise adjustments. The KWV1 are very good if your not a die hard maniac doing track events and autocross don't hesitate get them. We are installing 3 more V3 kits over the next week or so we keep them in stock now. |

coilovers installed today
hey all. installed my coilovers today. i love them. i was very leary about putting coilovers on my car. i did not want to make it ride like a 2x4 board. my main concern was ride quality. i installed these as recommended by kw. 9 clicks out on compression and rebound. the car is stiffer than stock. but you dont feel bumps in the road like you did with the stock suspension. i am now going to loosen it up and try it out again. these things are sweet. thanks to JT at X LEVEL for the great price.

just got back from a drive. loosened up the compression on the front. these things are smooth. the stock vibrations are gone with these the car is much smoother even with 22s.

Can this ride height be achieved with the V1's and is the ride still decent? I don't mind a stiff riding car, looks take precident |

Looks good.
With the prices i've been finding, its getting harder and harder not to go with KW V3's I've never installed something like this, was it fairly easy? I'll probably do Sway's & toe links @ same time of my coilover install.

You can't go wrong with the KW's. The colors are a little ricey but the functionality and price more than make up for it!
We have used the V3's on the street, road course, and drag strip on our test car. They are very adaptable and work well in all 3 scenarios. The V1's are just as nice and offer the same ride heights as the V3's, they just don't the valving adjustability. That being said the pre-set valving in the V1's is much improved over OE and matched for a lower ride height as well. Buy KW's here. |
