There’s still no way a L99 basic bolt on car is making 423 rwhp. Many L99 cammed cars are barely at that number. It is completely reasonable for a LS3 car to be there because the power train loss is significantly less and the engines are setup different.

No regrets the red one!

Can you confirm for the group here, that your bubby's car is a Manual or Automatic?

I was thinking about that as well. That would be good numbers for a manual, as others here have achieved that with bolt ons. But for an L99 auto? Hells no.

You do know that "feel good" dyno operators can fudge the numbers up high to make it seem like it's making a lot more power than it actually is, right?

I have a friend with fbo 2011 5.0. Headers . Cai...Boss Intake dyno tune putting 425 hp to the wheels. I run into another guy at some cruise nights that's a bit of a talker. He has a 2012 5.0 with a Cai and alot of bling both cars are manuals . He went to a shops dyno day last summer. Guess what his numbers are. ........yep 425 rwhp. I proceeded to tell him about my buddy and how his shop may have tweaked his numbers to make him happy. Dynos don't lie he said ...whatever bud.

My 2010/2SS/LS3/M6 dyno'ed at 419.5HP with just a CAI and the custom tune, I didn't even have headers. I have an R6P car (preproduction) and from what the tuner told me the R6P cars have consistently had higher HP. Perhaps the other Camaro was an R6P car?

He has an auto 2010 but it's not pre-production from the way you describe. Mine is #305 off the 1st year line and while I can't recall his production number, I know it's later than mine. I don't have any reason to not believe his claim and will check his dyno sheet when I take mine back for another dyno pull with the same tuner. The tuner and dyno in question is very reputable and long standing in the local racing community. I'll verify the differences when I get some time from work and summer activities and can schedule appt due to his shop being booked out several weeks... inquiring minds want to know. ;-)
