Is there something different for RS packages built before 8/20/09?

I was looking on GMPartsDirect.com and decided to check out the cost of the Halo/HID headlights (Per Pair: List $1616.72, GMPD $1176.97).

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...mber=pkehidkit

What confuses me is that they have a disclaimer that this particular kit is "For use on vehicles built before 8/20/09".

Anyone know what makes these unique to the cars built with the RS package before 8/20/09?

Ideas? Conspiracy theories?

I don't know, but when I was ordering mine around a month ago I did notice while looking at inventory on the computer at the dealer that some models that had the exact same options as the one I bought costed slightly more. I vaguely remember my dealer explaining why, but atm I can't remember.

Hmm... only thing that I can think of is the backup sensors but that shouldn't affect headlights.

Vehicles built after that date probably have a different wiring setup to accomodate the back up sensors...

GM likes to bundle strange electrical systems together.

Mine was built on 8/19 so if there's ever anything we need to compare then I can check for you. I luckily do not have those horrid parking assist zits on mine!
