[VR] Build Video: Mr. Anderson’s 1,300+rwhp C7 Z06 by Vengeance Racing

A few years ago a gentleman from Canton, GA reached out to us in regards to building a C7 Corvette base car that he could use both on the street as well as in local ½ mile events. Nathan’s goal was to have a car that made over 1,000rwhp with a supercharger system but still reliable and streetable enough to drive to local events that he would attend with the car. Over the course of several stages the car ended up making right at 1,050rwhp with an LME 416ci LT1 engine, Novi 2200R supercharger system, and a plethora of other performance parts. However, Nathan quickly grew accustomed to the power as well as wanted to move into a platform that used an automatic transmission to make the car even faster and more consistent. He quickly parted ways with the C7 and purchased a C7 Z06 that one of his friends owned which we had modified just before. This Z06 was equipped with the 8-speed transmission that Nathan wanted to use, and already had one of our Stage 3 packages installed as well as a basic Nitrous Outlet system making 836rwhp on a small 100 shot.

After a short time driving the car with the modifications that were already in place, Nathan sat down with us to go over his new end goal of building one of the fastest 8-speed powered C7 Z06’s in the country. This sent us on a journey over the last year putting together what would end up being a 1,300+rwhp combination on ethanol fuel that Nathan could race in the 1/4 , ½ , and standing mile events while still being able to cruise to coffee with his friends on a Sunday morning. The build went through a few stages to get where it is today, but ultimately the combination now consists of:

• LME Forged LT4 Short Block
• Vengeance Racing Low-Lash Solid Roller Camshaft and Valvetrain
• LME CNC Ported LT4 Cylinder Heads
• Procharger F1X Supercharger with ECS 10-Rib Bracket
• Vengeance Racing Air to Water intercooler system
• LME Billet intake manifold with Secondary Port Injection Rails
• PROSPEED ACM Secondary Injection and Boost Controller
• Vengeance Racing Low-Side Auxiliary Fuel System
• Vengeance Racing Valve Covers with Coil Relocation
• Vengeance Racing Catch Can System
• Circle D 8l90E Torque Converter
• RPM Wavetrac Differential
• GForce Outlaw Axles
• Vengeance Racing Parachute System
• JRI Coilover Suspension
• LG Motorsports Spherical Rear Suspension Kit
• Custom Polishing by Best Metals, LLC

The combination on this car is not only effective but reliable and makes for an extremely fast car that has seen well into the 180+mph zone in the ½ mile, and was on its way to an 8-second pass when the OEM spider gear in the differential failed on the launch only allowing a 9.1 second ET on a hurt differential. This forced us into the RPM Wavetrac upgrade, but unfortunately due to an extremely heavy work schedule from our customer we have yet to make it back out to the track to test further on the upgraded drivetrain. We hope to see a 200+mph ½ mile pass as well as a mid 8-second ET out of the car in early 2019 once our customer can break away from his daily routine and make it back out to an event with us. There is nothing better than seeing our customers pilot their own vehicles down the track and learn the ins and outs of drag racing while being able to test the limits of the builds that we provide for them. Stay tuned for more performance results and updates coming very soon on this monster of a Z06!
