My voltage in the car seemed lower than normal (13.x v) when driving around. I added a short ground from one of the alternator bolts to the frame where I used a wire wheel and self tapping sheet metal screw. Voltage is back up to 14.6v

Well dummy didn't add the Ground yet. Been fine since new Starter and the problem just reappeared last night after a short 10 minute drive home stopped to fuel up and went to start it. Hardly kicked over No Tach "SS" Tach No IAT Tach etc info from Autometer DashControl on HUD( it went back to the "Stock HUD" Tach display with no needle. Will post some pics later. Limped home. Just went out and it started fine back to normal.

Between 12.4 - 15+ while driving based on charging requirements with 14.6-14.9 being around the norm. See this thread for in-depth info https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showt...reduce+voltage

The charging system in the Camaro and probably all newer cars is smarter then it used to be. If your battery is in good condition it charges at different levels, I have seen 14V and 13V or not charging at all depending on what the battery needs.

Ok this isn't a header issue. I have had the same issue for years now and have tried everything. Positive cable bypass, new starter, new crank sensor. Multiple batteries, new ground wire. Starter heat shield... now engine is being rebuilt and a new power wire put in under engine to starter. None of those solved the issue. All worked better for a short time then the issue came back. Sooooooo what's the actual solution? I don't know.

Btw to me the issue is serious enough and prevalent enough in 5th gen that chevy should be dealing with this. Ive tried everything i can think of. No joy
