Not Cool

They had a lot more time to fix this. Lets go back to 67 all of those here that have the Classics know how those gaps and lines, do not match up when you restore these Classics a lot of work gos into this and they had a 69 to be inspiered by and should had seen all of this on that Camaro so in saying all of this Rick should had never got his car this way... I will keep the faith that GM will right this.

That was the first thing I noticed when looking at his pictures.

I was thinking since all the cameras were around they could not inspect that car. I hope that after the cameras left they fix everything like that?

But u would think that car would have been gone over with a fine tooth comb over the weekend.

Not happy but not a deal breaker for me, this will be my first American car in 15 years.

Hopefully the door just isn't shut all the way. Otherwise, that's pretty bad.

A GOOD dealer would "adjust and correct" during the PDI to eliminate an alignment issue before the customer gets the vehicle. All part of the process. If it GOT to the customers hands and the dealer didn't correct it, it could be done under warranty.

Arc...give someone from GM a chance to respond. I understand your frustration with this, but until we get confirmation this is not just a mistake on Rick's car no need to freak out.

I'd also wonder that if the car was "Driven off the line" and out the door, if the QA area was bypassed "for the moment" to do the days activities. I wouldn't expect the car on the truck and out of there heading to NC that day. It may have went back in for the remainder of the process...

I do get hyped but that could be because I have gotten kicked while I was down lets say many a time on this beloved forum for stating my displeasure with GM interiors

Amen, and If mine isn't right when I look at it, It will be before I pick it up....

Not making excuses, but it is things like this that WE point out to GM that WILL make this car perfect... We just have to keep them honest by telling them things that we find unacceptable. I guarentee GM people read these forums and they will respond accordingly. I know this from experience with the Sky forum... Most all the origonal complaints were fixed with running changes, two of which was no inside door lock buttons and a seat height adjustment... they both were made before the end of the first model year...

Every car I've seen in pics looks a little different. Rick's is misaligned, some are aligned but with a gap, some are aligned and fit together. Unfortunately, I have a feeling each car is going to be different and some may need panel alignment before driving away. Dash-into-door seamlessness is hard to pull off and usually seen in upscale Lexus' and such. Trying to pull it off in a car that starts at 23Gs may not have been a good idea. It will be interesting to compare interiors once there's a lot full of Camaros to peruse.
