Does this temp sound right?

Hi guys, just bought my 1st 5th gen Camaro, a 2010 Camaro RS 2lt. The Car is very solid and tight despite its 97,000 miles and was very well taken care of. Plus it has the Hurst Automatic Camaro Shifter...lol. Ok, my 1st question is: sitting at a light the temp gauge sits a line before the half when fully warmed up and doesn't leave that spot really, but I noticed the electronic gauge actually get up to about 210 sitting at a light and down to 196/199 cruising around. This sounds a bit high to me, is that normal?

That all sounds normal.
The actual gauge won't move from that position until you hit 245f, and when at the H position... About 300f lol

I don't know who calibrated that gauge, but I hope they got fired!

That is about right. Mine gets up to about 205 sitting at a light and drops to about 185-190 at highway speeds

Thanks guys, I've seen it get to 223 one time sitting in a long drive through line then the fans kicked in and dropped it to 210 real quick. The car is new to me so I'm just getting used to it. Thanks for the quick replies!

The gage in the instrument panel isn't a real gage. It's a fancy idiot light. The DIC will show the real readout from the temperature sensor.
