Breaking in the camaro, question.
So I have about 500 miles on my new camaro. I usually drive it between 30-45 mph so far. But there has been times
Where I've gone 0-70 like 3 times. I've never Floored it yet, and I know I have to take it easy for the first 1000 miles. I haven't don't anything too severe have I? Is I okay to drive it on the highway yet? Thanks guys. My camaro is a 1lt btw

I wouldn't worry too much. The manual says to keep the RPMs under 4000. So long as you do that your ok.

This topic is pretty torn, I have Though, repeatedly, Heard from several very skilled tuneshops etc that newer engines dont need breaking in.
Who knows... |

definately keep it under 4krpm for the first 2K miles or so and do not drag or try and launch before that or your warranty is toast....after 2K open her up a little, this is a camaro after all and not a damn Prius. Chevy built these to play with not drive miss daisy....

Drive it the way you normaly drive any other day. Nothing good ever comes from hesitating.

Is it wrong that I saw the user name "SugeKnight" and assumed the OP was asking about "Breaking into the Camaro"...?

Hard break in = maybe a little looser assembly = more HP,
BUT for exteneded durability without failures = follow break in recommendations. IE,,,, GO HARD GO NOW ... But don't expect it to last over 100k without a rebuild. JMHO |
