Yeah I saw that too - it’s pretty cool new technology from GM - it ties the car’s satellite GPS system into several weather apps - if the C7’s computer determines that there is snow within a 20 mile radius then it automatically locks the emergency brake in order to prevent you from backing it out of your garage

So I went to test drive a c7 base stringray...It was nice, cool interior and tech..
It just didn't wow me like the c6 z06 did. I felt like the c7 was much more like our camaro's. All while the c7 is probably better in performance to the c7 base.. To me the windshield seemed smaller and I felt like it lacked the go kart feeling that i felt in the c6 z06 and even my dad's c5 convertible

What about a Atsv or a gen2 ctsv with the lsa or you could get a Audi rs5 which are great cars all around

V's are still high in price. I was actually thinking Audi s4's. Never cared too much for the 5's styling. So the other option would be get a "more practical car" such as the s4 or some fast luxury sedan/coupe, and then I really have my dad's c5 corvette to drive when ever I want. He only has 6500 miles on it from the year 2000! Garage queen and he told me I can take it out whenever... or still go with the c6 gs and have the winter beater

Love my 1LE, it’s a beast, but if one had to go, it won’t be my vette. The vette is just an incredible car and an amazing bang for buck. You’ll never regret getting it

I love Vettes but it's hard to justify spending an extra $10k-$20k for very similar performance to the Camaro.

I've briefly driven both cars, a 7th gen Z51 and a 6th gen 1SS, and not gently. Norm

A C7 runs 3.7 sec 0-60's and down to the high 11''s in the 1/4 mile. No 6th gen runs that unless it's hero run or the ZL1.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...fast-list.html Money no object vette for sure. Im gonna be in that weird spot trying to stay 20-30k. Ill be cross shopping 5th, 6th, c5 zo6, some miles c6. 6th will probably be the nicest overall car all considered but perf for dollar decisions. Its gonna suck picking one...

Made 11 passes with my bone stock (only added a Corsa Xpipe) z51 on a 1/2 mile run at a runway. Afternoon session tarmac temps were in the 120degree range. Humidity was disgusting. Ran far more consistently than I ever imagined at those temps. 0-60 was between 4.1 and 4.4 consistently without using my launch control. Best I’ve done with my m7 is 3.8 on a much cooler day. As for price, wait until yr end when GM takes 20% off existing stock. Hell of a deal

My '11 Camaro SS put down 455rwhp thanks to a cam, headers, tune, etc., etc., etc.. The car would straight-up run! Even with all of the work and money I put into it, my C7 GS Corvette would stomp it in a straight line, corners...you name it. Even prior to adding the intake and x-pipe to the GS, the Camaro would lose handily. It's all about the weight. The GS weighs in at ~3,450 lbs.. Add in the potent LT1, mag-ride, etc., and it's no contest.

I'm talking 2018 vs 2018. And if you want to compare with the GS then you'd have to compare it with a SS 1LE to make it a somewhat fair comparison. If you look at the numbers they really aren't $20k apart like the price. So for that $20k you are paying mostly for looks. Unless you hate the way the Camaro looks and Love the way the Vette looks, I can't see how it's worth an extra $20k. But this is just my opinion. |
