I would second that...as a complete understatement. I would LOVE to see chevrolet blowing less cash on NASCAR and more on upper-echelon motorsports like the GT2 class in ALMS. No reason a full race spec camaro couldn't keep pace with Porsche and Ferrari.
I do have my doubts about GM having two race programs in the same series though, i bet they will look more seriously at the SPEED world challenge or maybe the Rolex Sports Car Series in GT. Either way, GM did state the would develop a camaro racing program, so this is great news for road race fans!

Camaro Slated for Grand-Am KONI Challenge GS Class in 2009
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5978 It's old news but it's still good news.

I made this w/ MS Paint, using a previously photoshopped Camaro. Turned out pretty good.

Actually, competition in GT2 is thriving. GT1 has no competition, and Corvette is rumored to go to GT2 after Le Mans. Corvette is already in GT3, and is actually doing well. They are also thinking of getting rid of GT1, and putting the GT1 cars into GT2 (all of course evene out) and moving GT3 to GT2.

Riley Technologies is building a Camaro race car for the Koni Challange which races with the Grand Am series. While my favorite driver is in the Grand Am prototype class I wish the Camaro would run the ALMS because their races are more interesting to watch.

Ahh the 1LE Camaro again Did good in SCCA racing. But an AMLS series car would be nice to see also.
