LS3 Stroker oil Issue

I have a 416 Stroker from Katech. IT was put in my car 2010 Camaro SS ManualTrans. Plus big cam , heads were CNC, 102 Intake, 102 throttle body, Brian Tooley brass trunnions, CTSV lifters. External engine oil cooler, The motor was great and sounded like a beast, Used driven break in oil, after the initial break in my builder felt the oil pressure was a little on the low side, we had a 10295 melling oil pump, then we had an oil leak from the rear main seal, my builder pulled the motor and found the rear cover wasn't sealed correctly so he replaced the rear main seal and resealed the rear cover. While the motor was out he decided to use a 10355 oil pump , replace the barbell with an upgraded one, put a baffle in the oil pan and put it back together, added Valvoline VR1 motor oil and fired her up. The oil pressure went to 55psi cold start and don't move at all, but there was a ticking sound from the front of the motor, when the motor got a bit warmer the sound got a little quieter. He decided to shut it down, Now he isn't sure what the noise is and why the pressure is not moving just staying in 1 spot he did replace the spring with a black spring which he thought was the copo spring. But calling melling they can't give us any answers if the wrong spring is used can the regulator make any type of noise and also keep the pressure at a steady 55psi and don't go up or down. Cant find anywhere where this has happened in the past. The noise is coming from the front of the engine on the passenger side. Any thoughts ? The noise was not there prior to the oil leak. Just after these changes of the oil pump. Oh and we replaced the Elite catch can with a Mighty Mouse figuring the engine needed to breathe more with the 12:1 compression

Melling pumps come with several springs. You should be able to put a spring in to increase the oil pressure.

Not using the one of the different springs would not cause a ticking sound, it would only effect the max oil pressure. What I'm thinking is did someone prime the oil pump through the oil galley on the drivers side of the block? If not it might have starved a lifter for too long during the first fire up and damaged one of the lifters.
