oil temp ZL1

I have a 2014 ZL1, trying to get to know the car and how it runs. First time with charger. Can someone tell me what the normal running temp for oil is. I have only 150 miles and seems to be running around 223-225. is this to high? Love the car so far

Honestly, haven't noticed the oil temp.

But just reminds me of a story. Friend of mine in high school had a 2 door Jeep Cherokee. I think it was a four banger., Anyway, he watched his oil pressure gauge real good, and that's how he knew his oil was in good shape. Until one day when the motor seized. That was the end of that Jeep.

That story has stuck with me. So I look at my gauges, but I splash a hair of Regean on there, trust but verify.

oil temp gauge is analog so I have no idea you read "223-225" however mine always seems to be straight up at 210 or a tick above at normal operating temp. At extreme situations, during road course sessions of 25 min, the oil temp can soar to over 300. Synthetic oil is good for 223-225 no problem.

the 2014 has a digital temp reading in the DIC under the performance menu. It has a range of 100 to 270 around 205 to 235 there are yellow bars on top and below the square markers that fill as the tempature rises.
I agree the analog shows just a tick over 210.

Pretty cool you can get an exact number off of the DIC in the '14s.

The DIC on my '13 has the water temp read out digitally but no oil temp, I'm pretty sure of it. Now I've got to go and take a short drive to check her out.

Someone confirm the temp reading in the new DIC is for oil and water...not just water temp. If you are looking at the dash reading for temp with the voltage on the next screen, this is definitely water temp in the 2012.
