Even in all her pain, she still thinks of others...
Hmmm, God Bless you, Mrs.Seau.

Yes... she is a super lady and the leader of the Seau family... she used to stand in the isle and scream for Junior like crazy, but when Stan Humphries was on the field she didn't pay much attention...

I always used to say that Junior Seau and Tony Gwynn pretty much owned the sports fans in San Diego...
It's a tough loss for that whole community...

He is the 8th member of the 1994 (or maybe 1993) Chargers team to have died.

I don't think you fully comprehend what that many hits to the head does to a person. The term knock something loose can be taken literally when it applies to this.

sorry, i don't buy it. football has been around for a long time, and you don't see a bunch of nfl/ex nfl players killing themselves.

The modern football helmet of today did not come around until later in the footballs times.

-The first "plastic" helmet was made in 1939 ish- This helmet was just that, a helmet with no face gaurd. Therefore when players hit, they did not hit facemask to facemask.

-Around 1956, the first single bar facemask came about. This increased hits but did not do much for concussions. These helmets did not have any type of "bladders" other than some padding.

- Around 1971 An Air bladder was inserted into the helmet. This allowed for more hitting potential. It allowed players to hit harder head to head every play and them not feel the pain. Players hit more and hit harder, play after play.

- In 1986. Riddel came out with the first "polycarbonate" helmet. THis allowed for maxium hitting potential on normals plays. This also allowed for destructive potential on hard hits.

- the last was made in 2007, in which they called the helmet a concussion proof helmet. Yet it was not.

I think you are very unversed in the issues in chronic traumatic encephalopathy, You would see that hard, bone crushing hits, Have less impact on the brain than the every play hit. The result is that a player is being subjected to 10's of thousands of hits a year.

This causes the brain damage.

honestly, if coaches coached right, then there would be no issues at all. You are coached at a very young age, to hit with your head up and wrap your arms around the ball carrier. Keep the skrews on the player. I know this because i started playing football in 6th grade. And if they are still coaching that, then it's the dumbass players that are causing problems on themselves. Seau was a defensive player. Their job was to do the hitting. So if he has a lot of trauma to the head, makes you wonder who's fault that is.

As mentioned in my previous posts, it is not the large hits, ie.tackles that are causing this.

It is the small ones, Linemen hitting each other, linebackers hitting lineman and so on....
