Getting my motor stroked 416 ci, ordered a 3000 stall TC from Circle D. Want my trans to last as long as possible.

If you even contemplating it just do it. It cost next to nothing it the grand scheme of things and then you'll know you did all you could on your end.

I myself am almost a year and no cooler and no problems but a higher stall will generate more heat with the additional "slippage".

So suck it up and have it done!!

Thx for the info, I guess for the small amount of money it costs, its worth the peace of mind.

i run one on mine. i think it was from pcm for less. in florida. especially made for the g8. i am positive they have one for the camaro. at any rate for wot runs always have it unlocked. they are so efficient at 95 percent plus there is no reason to lock them. at partial throttle there is software in hp tuners that locks them. i have a 3600 and yes going up hills, etc. it will rev just a bit more. but nothing dramatic. very streetable.

ALL stalls greater than stock should have a trans cooler. Heat is what destroys most trans. Even on a stock unit it is a recomended addition, and the cost is minimal.

Is there a DIY on installing a trans cooler? I might install one even though I only have a stock TC.

They are both good and we used to run both in our LS based drag cars for years before the FTI billet units were released. Since then we have always gotten 1 tenth plus quicker 1/4 mile times in each of ours with the comparable FTI. And yet to have a failure in several championships both NHRA & IHRA.

Doing a converter install 2900 CD and need some trans tuning addvise.
I have HPTuners to tune with. Tried the HPT Forum with no luck ! Seems everybody is holding back on helping others out in the forum. Was hopeing for better luck here. Any help from you experts would be nice. Not sure why we do not have more topics for the tuneing of this A6 tranny.
Thanks ahead for any help.

Bumbletee.....ask specifcs and we can answer your questions. What is your goal? What will be the use of the car? NA or FI? Lots of variables.

Is it true with a high stall that it can throw off your DYNO numbers?
