drag radials
just wandering if anyone has tried these- mt-305/45-18 on 18" wheels
im wandering because i am currently looking for drag wheels and thinking of these or go with 17's and get something like mt-295/45/17. i really would like a 305/50/17 or something similar, but not really finding much. so im wandering if i should just get 18" drag wheels, or if im better off going with 17's. |

most get the 18in c6 wheels as they are the only 18 to fit the ss calipers...if you fo 17, you will eithe have to change the rear calipers or buy a special drag rim that is custom made to fit the ss calipers..if your not running south of 650 rwhp, stick with the 18,s ..i posted pricing for the 275 mh racemaster, shorter tire and contact patch is approx 1/8 diff...1/8 is not much unless ypou are serious hp...they seem to have better reviews than mt and nitto and with coupon code , you can have delivered for approx 510..for 2..imo /./good luck

With the proper 18's, you can fit 305/45-18's with Nitto 555R's or with M/T ET STreet DR's. I will end up with the Nitto's, but I highly recommend the M/T's as they are the easiest to hook and hook well. The 18's with Nitto's will be a much more practical daily driver (Nittos handle the rain better and the 18's will look better for daily). 18's are better than 17's because at worst, all you have to do is remove the front brake "roller skates" (only on newer setups), whereas with 17's you have to put in V6 brakes or buy a much more expensive wheel. Hang in there, have some popcorn. I'll know tomorrow. Trust me. Padre |

How do the m&h's compare to the et streets? my personal experience is with et streets, and I've seen some really fast cars on them. the m&h's have a little better sizing options it looks like. i really want to keep at least a 28" diameter to keep in third gear at the top end.

I can't find any M&H in 18's. I don't have any experience with them, but they do come recommended.
I want to keep mine at the stock diameter, 28.7", so 305/45-18's are perfect. 28.7 is pretty tall, and many other drag radials are 26 or 27, which means you'll need more gear to trap, e.g. you might have to upshift before you trap - ideally you want to be redlining through the traps. Padre |

just bought the 275x18, with discount was 509 delivered...supercahrgedss ran the exact size and hooked well , then decided to go to hoosiers...others in the 800rwhp and under have ran these tires with no problems, getting into the 8,s...don,t get caught up in the size verses a 315...the contact patch is very minimal unless you are in the 1k rwhp dept,,also runs almost 1 inch shorter at 28inches , where as the mt and nitto are 28.9 tall..should def keep these tires as an option..

I just got my ET streets in yesterday 305/45/18. Should put the tire size at 28.8 with the stock being 28.7. So really close. I rolled the tire up to the car and it looks like it will be a tight fit. I am in the process of painting my Z06 rims so I will get pics up in the next 3 or 4 days with the setup install.
