I installed the bmr STB016 yesterday and it rubs against the hood shock, is there a solution to fix this without damaging the brace?

All kidding laid aside, clear packing tape. Pretty tough and clear. Clean up the area, remove wax there and then tape...

I use it where things are close. Overlap at the bottom... overlap front of the car tape over the backside...

I have an early production 2011 2SS/RS, so just bolting in the 1LE brace is not an option without an adapter (which I really didn't want to do). Decided to go with LG Motorsports G-5 3 point tower brace. It's a little more complex to install (as I'm finding out this weekend~lol) but think it will work well.

Cool strut tower brace washers

I am about to install the GM brace on a 2015 SS. Is there any reason to not use rubber fender washers between the brace and the body?

If you want to add flex to something designed to remove flex and defeat the point of installing it...

Just how much "flex" would you say is in a rubber washer 1/16" thick?

Do not see any reason not to use the rubber (or a fiber) washer. Cannot imagine any problems with "flex"...especially when sandwiched between 2 larger bodies of sheet metal & aluminum (not to mention it's a washer that is 1/16" thick & the size of a quater). Just apply a little blue loctite & torque the mounting bolts to spec....else you'll get posts warning about "vibration" problems~lol

I installed a GM Strut Tower Brace on my 2010 2LT in which was painted. I had to use the TPIS adapter kit and it worked out well.

Did you paint that yourself? I have yet to find a color match for the imperial blue that I trust and that strut tower looks perfect. Looks like it may be for the aqua blue just wondering what kind of paint.

Yes - I had it painted at Maaco and the color I chose was the Hot Wheels blue color GM used on the Hot Wheels edition Camaros.
