When to do proformance upgrades...during breakin or post break in??

So the question is, does it matter when you change out intakes and exhausts, or even headers..during break in or post engine break in..or is it all the same???

lets hear some thoughts??

I personally dont think it matters if you do it b4 or after break in. But, and this is a big but; Its gonna be a lot harder to do a proper break in after you have put a bunch of upgraded parts on the car, because you arent gonna be able to keep your foot out of the throttle. If you get a tune per any upgrade , it may be a little more harsh during break in, but nothing that I would think could hurt the vehicle.

Do it before then do your break in by doing 3x3 dyno runs to achieve a near perfect ring seal. Guys in the bike racing world do this and there is a measurable difference.

Using 4th gear:

Do Three 1/2 Throttle dyno runs from 40% - 60% of your engine's max rpm

Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes

Do Three 3/4 Throttle dyno runs from 40% - 80% of your engine's max rpm

Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes

Do Three Full Throttle dyno runs from 30% - 100% of your engine's max rpm

Let it Cool Down For About 15 Minutes

That is it. You should have the beginning of a perfect engine break in. There are other thigns you need to do for the brakes, the transmission but they are more forgiving.
