Bummed with the Camaro community after driving a Corvette for the weekend
Maybe it's because it's a 2013 Corvette 427 convertible, but I've been driving said vehicle since Friday as part of GM's Vehicle Ambassador program that GM employees can participate in.
The #1 thing I've been really surprised about is that almost every single Corvette I passed on the road, the other driver waved. At first it threw me off -- I forgot I was driving another Vette and that's why they were waving. When I first started driving my 5th gen, I used to always wave and most of the time I wouldn't get any wave back so I stopped doing it. Have to say - I always thought the Vette community was a bunch of snobs, but after driving this Vette for the past 3 days I'm realizing they're more friendly on the road than my Camaro family is. :( My resolution is that after I turn the Vette back in, I'm going to make it a point to wave at other Camaros and Firebirds again, hopefully I get more waves back! Picture of the 427 Vette with my '94 Camaro. When I reserved it, I only knew it was a 427 - I didn't know it was red with black stripes. I wish I had my 5th gen at home (I left it in the parking structure when I picked up the Vette) so I could have gotten a picture with both Camaros and the Vette all being red with black stripes.

That's one of the better looking sub-'98 fourth gens I've seen, and I was an LS1 snob who tends not to like red cars, lol.

I got a wave back from a 67 vert today.
The Camaro community here has been pretty friendly.

Likely because only a small portion of the Camaro "family" are actually car enthusiasts. It's just a car to many people. That's not the case with Corvettes. Motorcycle riders are largely the same way.
I get just as many waves from car guys (Mustangs, Challengers, etc.) as I do other Camaros. |

Yeah it kind of surprised me at first - I wasn't "looking" for other Vettes so when I was driving up a popular cruising strip (Woodward ave in Michigan) I thought I saw a guy in a C3 Vette wave at me but I wasn't sure so I just keep on cruising. It was only today that I encountered like 5 vettes cruising around that I realized they were all waving, each and every one of them

What can I say, we're all a bunch of A holes that don't like to wave to each other.
What if there was a wave unique for Camaros that we all knew? Hold up five fingers for fifth gen, but then the 67-69 guys will be giving everyone the finger, so maybe we hold off on that for now.
