Best A/S Tire? UPDATE ON BFGs!!!!!!!!

Well as the post states what are the best all season tire out there ... I live in northern Indiana and the worst weather I'd drive my car in is rain... And that's if I don't look at the weather and get caught in some.... Now I also could be driving in 40-50 degree weather.. I really want the BF Goodrich but as everyone knows they are on back order for who knows how long... And I also will be in the 630s rwhp in a few weeks

So what else is out there that people like? BC these F1s are junk!!!

I am in the same boat as you!!... What i have found that seems to be reasonable is the Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires... They are like $203 each for the 305's for the rear, the only problem is they dont make a 285 for the front. They do make a 275/40/20 which i have read some people have used...They seem to be the only other reasonably priced tire without spending $400+ for the Michelin PSS..

I don't think there is any doubt that for the money spent the BFG is the best AS for this car there is. Finding it seems to be the biggest challenge.

yeah Id like to wait for them but with no time table for the BFs I'm not sure what to do... and I want to stay with the stock sizes or even a 315 in the rear,,, I might just hold out this year and hopefully they are restocked by next spring...

I installed Continental Extreme Contact DWS back in March. Since then I have put 3000 miles on the car. I generally only drive the car in nice weather but have been caught in the rain a few times. The tires performed well. My car is stock and I do not run it hard so results on a 600Hp+ car may vary.

Best A/S option is parking it and using a vehicle your care less about IMO of course. *ducks behind table*

I think its a consensus that the BFG comp As2 is the tire to get, but why BFG doesn't make more of these (305/35/20) tires at a time is beyond me...

Another option is the Nitto 555G2, which seems to be pretty good as well..Ive looked into these as well, and most people seem to have favorable reviews..

BFG are the best for the ZL1, they really make a difference driving on standing water or below 40F weather, probably you might have a hard time getting them. Order them, they worth every penny, best investment for my car, i even don't have to worry on my TC setting during foul weather my tires take care of my car.

I don't know how much you should be willing to 'wait' on those BFGs. There is no actual solid lead on when those will be made again. BFG won't even commit to a date for production. I scoured the nation (phone calls and emails) months ago and they're all gone. I did manage to find 4 spread across the country by calling some warehouses directly (got some help in the tire underground - I kid you not that is what it felt like, I dug DEEP when a employee from a Chevy dealership game me some numbers to call), but I lost those when the distributor I was working with failed on customer service. Never work with SimpleTire.com when trying to execute a unique order - horrible customer service.

Long story short, I've been wanting some A/S's for some time now, and I still don't have them. I'm at the point where I MUST buy tires soon...
