Cool First Camaro5 Car Meet?

Per Toby Meadows at Classic:

Good Morning,

Here is the update I promised you..
On May 6,2009 we will be having a Camaro Unveiling...

The event will be from 4-8 PM
The unveiling wis schedled for 6 PM
There will be a silent Auction for a Red SS Camaro
Proceeds will go to Christ Haven
There will be a drawing for the car cover to be given away to a customer who has a Camaro on order
There will be a collection of older Camaros on display from local area clubs
Pepsi has donated 40 cases of beverages
Hot Dogs
At 8 PM those who want to participate may parade through main street over to Love and War in Grapevine

I'm thinking we get some Camaro5 shirts on, and show up in numbers. I've had a couple of conversations with Toby regarding Classic possibly sponsoring a local Camaro5 chapter with Mod Meets and maybe window decals, etc. He seemed to think it was a great idea, and he gave me a couple of names at Classic that I should speak with. I figured this unveiling would be the perfect time to do so, but we would need to show presence.

Who's with me?!?!

well you would need permission from Tran to use the camaro5 name, since he owns and operates the site, and any logos associated with it

Agreed....just showing presence of a local chapter is all I'm concerned about. I know we have a lot of people here in DFW on this forum, so I see this as a chance to get together. If we can build a relationship with a large local dealer, then we may be able to get discounts, etc. All I really care about is getting together some meets....everything else would be gravy.

On my other car club forums, we did get permission from the owners, and we created a sub-forum (similar to these regional) for the larger car clubs that banded together.

I don't have time to coordinate this stuff, otherwise I'd be all over it. I simply think it would be great for us locals to get together once a month or so.

If Teamlynn was having some thing we BC guys could come down for that. There is no plans for an unveiling here.

I'll have to wait until it gets a little closer to say yes or no. I may already be committed to one in Houston. I don't know for sure yet. I would rather go to the one at the dealership where my car is ordered though.

I am down! Nothing on my calendar for that date. Hopefully we can get enough folks to come out and represent.

When I got this email, I kept expecting the bottom of the note to say...

"...where we will unveil 67 preordered Camaros!"

Quick update; The Camaro will be IOM 2SS. Ya'll come in full force. We planned for 500 with a contingency for 1000.

That would be cool...I may be in Houston for an event there but I'll keep tis one in mind as well.

Hopefully whichever event I attend I actually have my Camaro!

(just for those wondering...I ask my dealer and they said they didn't want me to be at their event...so looking around deciding which I will go to)

We have been planning for over a month however we have done little but word of mouth so far as we lined up guest speakers, etc. The flyer is almost ready for our email blast. The details are on our website www.classicchevytexas.com . Before we receive a deluge of corrections you must remember car guys can't spell or proof read very well. Eric and I have already pointed out they spelled Settlemire wrong and will have it corrected.

I am going with the excuse the error is an intentional publicity stunt.
