2010 SS CAMARO VIAGRA FOR THE SOUL ?

I am about two weeks into my new SS ,
I grew up in a 69 SS ...it was my best buds car,in his drive way when he returned from Nam alive.
I will never forget that car,I still remember how the car smelled inside.
It was light metallic green with a black vinyl top with black buckets....
The car was so bad you could hardly see the road in front of ya when the throttle was nailed.....
One night at a drag race ,heads up against a 1966 tri-power GTO..a hellva race....the Camaro led the race ,but only by a car and a half mostly through the race.....We measured the rubber on the pavment from the SS....in forth gear powershift it put down 90 ft.....I remember it like yesterday...the SS had a 4:10 gear, the Poncho had 3:70....
I remember so well what it felt like driving the car....When I sat for the first in the 10 SS I compaired the feeling,I closed my eyes as I gripped the steering wheel,I looked out across the hood...looked at the dash...and I said to my self....self,its pretty close, but not an exact look alike...the tires on the 69,I believe were 14 s with the chrome Rally wheels....
Is there anyone out there who owned the 69 or like me who knew the car personally ?
How do you compare the cars ? there is nothing the same basicly ...the 69 had a solid lifter cam...carburated, 4 ppd ,410 vs a computer car ,fuel injection, 345, 6 speed 20 inch....the list goes on....
I have about 250 miles on my SS....it puts a huge grin on my face every time I get in it....but I ask myself...is it like the 69 ? Iam not conclusive yet,its to early.....but is it a Viagra car for a guy who drove its predecessor ? I think the answer is Yes.....What do you think ?

Are you saying it's Viagra for the person or for the sole of their shoe?

I've never felt the need for Viagra (for it's intended use or for the soles of my feet).....maybe you meant "Viagra for the Soul"

Extended use may cause burn-outs outs and uncontrolled excitement..... if these are unintended consequences see your Ford dealer immediately.

I owned a 69 SS396 Camaro with the L34(350HP) for 34 years. I would say that the 2010 SS is way far better then the 69 SS. HP, handling and ride.

I still have my 69 ss vert. similar in style, different in performance. The 2010 is such a nice ride compare to the 69. However I would never get rid of the 69 is has such personality along with its power ! Both give me the permagrin in different ways but there is no way the 69 could be my DD.

I gotta say BOETIE I first sat in my brothers brand new 69SS in the summer of that year (I was 7 years old) I remember he took me for a ride in the mountains in northern California at speeds over 100 mph and scared the crap out of me. When we got home I asked him, no begged him to take me again. What an awesome thrill. I sat in a 2010 SS about 6 months ago and I have been obsessed ever since. I plan to get one in June. I cant wait

In the very early 70's, I was quite a gearhead. Was young single and living in the barracks in the USAF. Most of my Supervisors were just back from Vietnam and there was all manner of hot cars that were dreamed of and money saved for down payments while they were overseas. Many of these guys could not wrench on their cars, but still wanted them.

There was a 70 Camaro SS 350 4 speed that a friend had. I used to wrench for him and got many rides in it. I think I loved that car as much as he did. The "NEW CAR SMELL" was different back then. I think new cars now have much less of that.

I see and feel some of the same things in my New 2010 2LT/RS. It is quick for a V6, probably equal to some of the lesser V8 of the older era. The 6 Speed takes some getting used too. Keep forgetting that 6th is there! LOL!

The lines are right, the drivers area is right, So much is spot on!
