Beautiful 55 degree day, pulled back the car cover and started up and let her run for 30 minutes.

Since I'm too damn cheap to spend $90 online to buy a cover, I figured I'd try and make one.
An hour later, VOILA!
It's not perfect, but for a first attempt I'm not at all displeased.
Sure beats looking at those ugly ass wires!
Damn that looks pretty sweet, I'd say that looks awesome for a first draft, I like the way it looks from the side too, what did you use?

I open the hood, check the fluid levels, and close the hood not staring at the ugly ass wires.
Saved me $90 a bunch of times.

Went to Pigeon Forge for a night, then Gatlinburg the next morning, then took the back way home along the river through the mountains. Gorgeous drive.

I used cardboard to make the template,
Then a piece of 26 gauge steel from Lowe's ($7)
Had the paint laying around
Got the black trim from Advance Auto, it was $13 for an 18ft section so I have lots left
It's not bolted in place, but it stays.
I loosened the 2 fender bolts and slid it up under just enough to hold it when I tightened them back down.
Took me about an hour.
I'm not very patient when I'm in the middle of a project t and waitingng for painted pieces to dry!

I'll be heading to Gatlinburg in a few weeks to visit Mom.
Can't wait to spend some time in the GSMNP trout fishing!
