Best sound on a budget LS3
Alright alright before I get flamed for asking a question that can be answered by the sound clips, I know you all realize those sound clips don't do justice to what the actual car will sound like. So here is what I'm looking for: The best sounding (deep mean sound), and the cheapest muffler I can put on my car to give it some sound. This stock exhaust is killing me. I would like to eventually do a whole exhaust system on my car but for now I just want some sound. So what would you recommend?

I thought about that but I didn't think it sounded very good in the sound clips. Has anyone actually done this and liked it? Does it hurt performance at all?

Well the magnaflow 2.5" competition axleback is basically a muffler delete. I think it's WITHOUT A DOUBT the best sounding exhaust there is. It's VERY deep tone, quiet on the freeway, but SCREAMS when you get on it.

Muffler delete sounds the best for the cheapest IMO.
If you don't like that, try exhaust diverters or cut-outs. |

muffler delete is the best cheap. I dont know how much the magnaflow costs, but i know the Borla Stype is nice too, so if there similar in price( i know where to get goodp rice on borla) its fair either way.

Pypes stainless steel cat-back.......half the price of anyone else's cat-back and you can find it at some vendors on sale for less than the cost of an axle-back kit.
It has a deep old school rumble and is the route I am going. There have been some that have said it's made in China and is of less quality than others. I live 10minutes from their showroom so I went to look at the system, the welds are very nice and the quality-to-price ratio is high in my opinion. I have absolutely no affiliation with them and I don't personally know anyone there. They do have headers and hi-flow cats also. My take on their stuff is plain and simple that other companies are just plain raping Camaro enthusiasts and Pypes is not, plus I highly doubt that if they are making parts overseas that they are the only ones. Worth looking into at the least. |

hmmmm all good options. I will look into the pypes system and a muffler delete with a pipe welded in so I can keep the tips. may call a few shops tomorrow. does the muffler delete hurt performance at all?

I went with the CHERRY BOMB cat back system nice tone under hard acceleration and a low rumble when idle around 500. from performance exhaust. the sound clips dont do any of the systems justice
