I do the same. I stop and wonder though if a nice car parked all by itself out in the "back 40" of a parking lot represents a "symbol" to a hit and run or vandalism degenerate.
Low-life, scum, dirt bag, incest maggot might see the car as owned by a careful owner and will go out of his way to make it a target. Any thoughts?

I try not to park anywhere that may get me unwanted attention. At work though i always park in an area where atleast one side (usually my drivers side) wont have a car next to me.

This post is just another chapter of a long history of jealous rage, abuse and carnage directed at Camaro owners.
If you have a nice car, you can't park it unattended unfortunately.
Sign of the times, we have a whole generation raised to selfishly disrespect and avoid responsibility for their actions.
Always check You Tube and other social media outlets, someone may have filmed themselves doing this.
Totally agree with the 'generation raised to selfishly disrespect and avoid responsibility for their actions' - may have begun with a prez's words under oath, "It depends what the meaning of the word is is."

If it was a hit and run, some insurance companies will require you to file a police report in order for you to take advantage of the lower "uninsured motorist" deductible.

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. Parking far away just says come and get me. The best thing to do is park with normal vehicles, but nice vehicles. I just plain won't take my vehicles to stores or any type of place where I have to park it like that. I always use the wife's vehicle, lol.

you can't leave it home in the garage all the time it's a car and it was meant to be driven and parked. But it sucks that some people have no respect for others property. Sorry for your bad luck. Hope it gets fixed fast.

This is the kind of thing that has me worried to death about owning mine when it gets here in two weeks or so.

Are the scratches that deep or is it paint from the other vehicle? Some times a great paintless dent removal person and a buff can really save you repainting.

Paint is definitely to deep to buff out.

Sadly, I joined your club this morning my friend. Not nearly as bad as yours, but hit and run and not something one deserves to go through. Had mine a month and a day.

The metal is stretched pretty good. Replacing the quarter panel is a very expensive job and most likely not covered or a reasonable option.

Repair is your value option. With a quarter panel repair every sand mark will show up and you will need a good filler to get it perfect.

Body work always looks best when you do not rush it, as over time the fillers and paints tend to shrink and then months down the road you get the read out of the repair.

It should be filled and faired and primed, then wait about 30 days for everything to shrink in. Next paint & clear coat with a few weeks before rubbing out. It will make a world of difference in the long run.

Red & clear coat are one of the easier colors to match up.
