Is it wrong to own a V8 Camaro?
I own a 2010 Camaro 1SS/RS/M6 and I have to say, I am very happy with my decision. There was never really a question regarding the drivetrain in my book. I was willing to compromise on most everything else, but I wanted the V8 with an M6.
I had a friend of mine tell me the other day that I should have bought the V6 because I don't "use" what the car has to offer. His statement is correct, I don't use the car to it's full potential while commuting to work, or when I go for a nice weekend drive. Sure I enjoy the occasional hard take off, but nothing that will land me jail. The only safe place to use such power would be on a closed track. I also have a 900CC sportbike that I don't "use" to it's full potential either, but I am only getting flack for purchasing a V8 Camaro. Does anyone see a problem with someone buying an SS if they don't plan on racing it?? /End Rant |

by his logic you should be driving a fiesta or smartcar. something that just gets you from point a to point b. or maybe a bicycle. what does HE drive?

Nope. There aren't many places to use a car like this to its full potential, but it sure is fun running stoplight to stoplight. Tell your friend to climb in for a KWIK ride. Maybe then he will understand. If not, call the coroner. He's dead.

I don't. You buy what you like. As long as you like the car and enjoy it who cares if you gun the engine or not on every take off. You use your car for what you want to use if for. Be mindful of the jealous ppl and the haters. I've been told my LS is a "shitty" car but do you think I car one bit. I bought the one I wanted.

It's YOUR car and YOUR money. Buy what you you like. I don't worry about what other people say about my V8. It's my car. I love it. |

Oh god, for a second I was worried this was going to be something about the environment and owning a prius
you got a v8 because it's the American muscle that comes with a camaro. Rather you're going 100 over the speedlimit or driving normally, you have a muscle car. You need the v8

It's wrong to not own a V-8. It's completely insane to own a V-8 of it's in a mustang.
There, I thought I would get the two biggest arguments on this site started early. |

i don't think so...it's like owning expensive or flashy clothes, or ordering expensive meals at restaurants. There is an element of fun to that, but you don't NEED to do it (the lesser items would still do the trick...) but if you can afford it do it. I would have purchased the V8 if possible..and i never race my V6..but i still would of liked the V8
