These dealers aren’t idiots and many members here have posted supporting info from their sales (obviously the 56K ZL1 1LE didn’t happen) and certainly there are some that pull you in the door using this tactic. Three of our dealers in SFLA have sold to members here who have not only been 7-8K off, they also shipped them to the buyers in california and Texas where their dealers wouldn’t budge. It may be GM is incentiving dealers that move numbers through bonuses etc

This is logical for one major reason this year and that is heavy metal moving dealers probably anticpate (And some may actually know) the timeframe of a potential ZL1 refresh. Couple that with end of the year models, then it’s reasonable that they may fear having one sit on a lot after next MY. Many ZL1s went for high 50s at the end of the 17MY.

The issue is most wont negotiate a 1k handling fee so we bottom off at 58-60k. The reality is the 18s will never move above 55k if the 19 is refreshed

Weird. Some members in the California sub forum insist you cannot get a ZL1 for anything under MSRP in CA. My argument was be patient and shop around enough and the deals will present themselves. Nicely done on the deal. Looks like they can eat some crow.

There are many variables just not the selling price.
