Nitto Drag Radials.

What's the best choice 305/35 or 275/40.

I'm no expert but, 275/40 is your stock size and might have more sidewall. That said if you let some air out of them say down to 20 psi they might work better than the 305/35, plus the 305/35 should have a wider rim. Just my guess.

Thanks for the advice. Just trying to make a decision on size and sideway is important for shock cushion. Don't want to bust one of those M6's.

Another forum member just ordered the Nitto NT05R 315 35R 20 from Discount Tire yesterday, they should run you about $700.00 for the two rear tires with mounting.

He has the NT05 275 40R 20 and loves them... just wanted to get the bigger ones because he thinks he needs the better hook up.

I think I will buy two of the 315s in the month or so.

From what I hear the NT05R 315 35R 20 will still fit on the stock rear wheels on the camaro

Brian - I have the 275s and would go wider next time. I know the 305's fit and I am pretty sure the 315's would to.

Sounds good. But that part # is not NT555R which is the DOT Drag Radial.

Cool are the 315's NT555R. By the way I am thinking about calling you in regards to p coating some wheels. Any idea what the shipping would be to 98295.

oh.. are you saying that the ones he bought are not "drag radials"

I just looked up both NT05R and NT555.. both are listed as Drag Radials.. for my own knowledge, can you explain the difference between the two?
thanks

Rear RS are 9 inch.... I put some NT555R 305/35/20s on stock RS wheels:

You can see the tire has a bit of a bulge...

Well... as it turned out the shop gouged my rims when taking of the stock Pirellies... so rather then having them replace them with another set of RS wheels, we worked it out so I got some BOSS wheels... and moved from a 9 inch wheel to a 10 inch wheel!

you can see tire fits better and more rubber on the road..

So yes a 305 will fit on the stock 9 inch RS/SS wheel... but man, it a lot better on a 10 inch! LOL
