I ended up putting the new one in and torqued them down to 55 lb/ft as I didn't want to take any chance before the event tomorrow. It seems like my initial guess is correct.

Since I drove the car with loose end links when I heard the clunk, it most likely weakened the upper bolt and caused that. I can try adding a bit more torque but since I also applied some blue loctite I think it should b fine now.

I attended to another club event at the ORP yesterday (2017-5-20).
Ambient temps were about 15F degrees higher this time so my best lap was 1:55.. I had understeer issues maybe because of the tire temps . Overall I am not that impressed with the Trofeo R tires probably because of the softer sidewalls or the fact that it's recommended with 30 hot psi and -3.0 camber (it was easily 37-38 psis after a few hot laps). I will see how the NT01 will do next time at the ORP

Some pictures from the latest track event at the ORP this weekend.

X25 and I swapped cars at some point and asked each other's opinion on handling of both cars. His Miata track build (NA 2.5lt built motor, ohlins race coilovers, stoptech bbks..etc) has great handling feeling very well balanced and easy to rotate especially with the sticky Z214s I wish the bigger sizes were available for our cars .

Schroth harness also did a good job keeping me in my seat so it should be fine for now

Pics look beautiful! To be fair, though, it was sunnier than how it looks in the pics : )

Hankook Z214s were great. This made me wonder what we could do with good tires like Hoosier R7s, etc. on our V8 cars. Looking forward to trying out R7s on the C7.

Just an update on my rotors and ST43 pads after the 4th event (3 full event to be exact since the first couple two were only half day)

As you can see the hairline cracks are a bit more visible but should be fine for a few more events

I measured the ST43s at ~16mm (they're 18mm when new if IIRC) as you can see there's still tons of life on them

And this is the OEM pads with only 800 miles on them (no track miles) Measured at 15.2 mm. They still look brand new in comparison:

Decided to run the 305/325s NT01s and compare them against to stock and Trofeo R tires before it gets really hot here in Northwest so it will be an accurate comparison

I have a scheduled event at the RMP this afternoon. Poke doesn't look as bad as I though it would so hopefully there won't be any rubbing

Here's a picture of them next to each other

Discount tire quoted me $195 for dismounting and mounting the new tires (what a joke) so I took it to my local Costco Tire service and only paid $60. Service guys were really helpful also

I could finally get some proper seat time at the Ridge yesterday. At the last event I could only do one session with the Trofeo Rs.

Yesterday, crew seemed a lot more organized and there were only a handful of people there so I had a chance to try the NT01s. They felt great and I didn't have any rubbing issues (yay). I could push it better and as a result I improved my personal best by another second (1:54s)

After the third session, however, I had a flat tire :/ Fortunately, I was able to put some air and drive it to the Les schwab and had them fix my tire. I got screwed, literally

I said to myself I shouldn't let this ruin my day especially since there is no traffic and the weather was not hot (Ambient temps at around ~63F )
I turned back and improved my best lap for another second after that!

The front tires definitely begs for more camber. As turn in was not as good as I am used to, I had to alter my driving style (more trail braking) and my lines but car felt a bit more planted at the corner exits.

Lap times were pretty consistent and as you can see 1:52s are very possible. In fact, I was doing better at the last lap until I had to drift at one corner and blew that lap. Oh well

and here's a video of my personal best lap the Ridge:

It was a busy day yesterday I took my car to Chase Race for extending the upper camber bolt hole to get more camber. Thanks Provoste for all the information

After extending the hole a little bit we would add additional .6 degree camber upfront I also asked Doug (from Chase Race) to add little bit of toe out up front to help the steering feel/response for turn in. Hopefully car will be better in at the corner entry and mid corner. I have two more events coming up (June 4th at the Ridge and June 9th at the ORP) so hopefully these will help

Front wheels look completely tucked in

This is how the front brake pads and rotors look like after 5 event (4 full event) As you can see still good amount of pad life. Hairline cracks became more apparent but they should be good for another 2-3 days at least

I also installed the Roto Fab Intake with sound tube delete. The vendor made a mistake and accidentally sent me an oiled filter but hopefully my dry filter will arrive sometime next week so that I can replace

The cabin noise is almost non existent now (well besides the noisy NT01 tires of course lol) It definitely made a difference on comfort level

Got rid of this stupid "sound enhancer" pfft

Glam what app are you using for live lap times? Great build btw, I'm following it closely. On another note the team at Vorshlag near me in Dallas should be releasing camber plates soon.

Thanks I use RaceChrono app for Android. I have a dedicated cell phone (an old Nexus 5) for that since it's not available to Apple iOS. I've used Harry's Lap Timer previously and it's OK but I prefer RaceChrono for it's better visibility and better data analysis tools.

I considered camber plates at some point but am a bit skeptical about using them with the MRC suspension. I had my mechanic extend the upper camber bolt to gain more camber and it should be just fine until I get the Multimatics
