At least I'm consistant 12.5 @ 111 mph

I went to the track today and I again ran 12.5 @ 111 mph. This is my 3rd trip to the track in the last two months and each time I've run 12.5s. That's as fast as I can go with my current setup and weather conditions. Today, the conditons were good for our area (around 60-65 degrees or so). But I'm going to need some real cold air or more mods to run faster. And there isn't another weekend Test and Tune (the only ones I can go to) until late March. By the end of March it will be in the 80s every day. So today was my last realistic chance to improve my times with my current setup.

Anyways here are my time slips from today.

Well I think thats pretty good. I've had mine since October, and havent taken to the track yet, but I'm still trying to get mine to hook up. I either bog the motor, spin the wheels off, or get that nasty wheel hop. Once shes' moving its like a rocket. I've been playing with launch control, t/c and can not get a good launch. Are you running in comp mode?

That's pretty solid for those mods. (nice 60') I hope to break into the 12's when I get my headers on next week.

Now you've got a good baseline for the next mod...

I have an L99 A6 and I just put the shifter in D (drive) and turn the TC off.
That's it. I don't even put the shifter in M (Sport mode).
My car still has a pretty aggressive tranny tune in D (Drive).

It does have a more aggressive tune in M (Sport Mode), but I don't use it because I'm afraid I might accidently hit the tap shifts leaving the line. That actually happened the first time I used M (Sport Mode) at the track. So now I just put it in D.

Good runs. You need to go do some bracket racing.

Yeah, its either run at ATCO on a 30 degree day or get more mods. Seeing that ATCO isn't in my future, I think its time for some more mods.

I'm on the waiting list for the Vararam. I was hoping to get it while the weather's still cool down here. I have a real consistant baseline at 12.5 @ 111 mph so it would have been interesting to see if I could have improved my tiime with it.
I'm also considering gears or a mild stall (2800 or so). Sometime later down the line a conservative cam (nothing too wild).

My Camaro is my daily driver so I want to keep it really street friendly, but I'm also not satisfied with mid 12s.

Youre car will be the perfect test mule for when you get youre Vararam with the passes youve made! Like you said as long as you get it soon hopefully. Keep us posted if you get to try it out.
Atco isnt in my future either so ive been looking for quarter mile abandoned coal mines no luck yet. lol

SGO - I have the A6 with a 2800 Vigilante converter which I don't really notice until I put it in reverse then it tends to stall up. I was able to cut 1.83 short times on the stock 20's and it runs low 1.70's with Nittos and with more launches there is a 1.6 in it. My mods are similar to yours and I am running 12.4 s now but haven't run it much since putting the headers on.

Yeah, I'm thinking of the same thing (2800 stall). Your car was tuned for the stall right? Also did you get a tranny cooler? If not, has anyone suggested that you need to get one?

Are you building your car up to 1200 on your leavs ? because you should be cutting 1.8 60fts . I cut 1.8s with the car stock and tuned,How long are you letting the car cool down for? Because that is very important to for good 60 fts with a A6 car.

Most guys would consider 1.9x on the stock tires pretty good. 1.8 sec 60' on the stock tires (stock converter) is excellent.
Anyone that can pull 1.8 sec 60' (tune only or lightly modded) is going to find themselves at the top of the 1/4 mile list. Not many guys can do it.
You also have to take into account the track conditions (different at every track). Some tracks are prepped a lot better than others.

On my stock tires (that are pretty worn down from 8 months of doing burnouts) I just can't get lower than 1.90. If I try to launch too hard (over 1000 rpms) I get wheel spin and some wheel hop. The take off area is also a little lumpy/bumpy. I need to come off the line smooth to keep the tires under me.
The guy working the staging lane even said "you better take some air out of your tires because its going to be a while before the track hooks up." My tires were already at 26-28 psi or so.

There was a guy at the track in a tuned L99 (intake also) running low 13s with 2.0-2.1 sec 60' times.

My car usually sits for a while between runs. It all depends on how crowded the track is. I usually only get a few runs in several hours. I also don't want to abuse my car so I like to let it rest between runs. When I went on runday Sunday I only got two runs in 5 hours because it was so crowed.
But I have hot lapped my car (cloudy humid day with only a few guys at the track) and I ran basically the same exact time (within a couple hundreds with the same trap speed) as my first run that was after 1.5 hours of sitting waiting for the track to let us race.
