Did you get them to provide you with the codes yet?

If so , post them or PM me

Can't you just post them? Keeping it to yourself doesn't help anybody else out who might have the issue(s) in the future.

First off if the ECM was shot you wouldn't be driving it at all. It wouldn't run.
Second the ECM in our cars is an E67. The same one used in all the vetts and Cadillacs. I'm sure it's used and a lot of other cars by now. It is not specific to the ZL1 and therefore is not going to be any more prone to failure in our car than all the others.
Thirdly, I would check to make sure they didn't leave a ground wire loose when they did the headers. Because if you got a whole bunch of stabili-trac lights coming on that's probably your problem

I'm no auto tech... But I have had my ECM replaced twice in 14 month period... Was able to start ZL1 with hesitation but it started...

Upon Dealer troubleshoot, both times they said the ECM was bad....

When you do CAI, headers and throttle body it is common to get a cel light.

Not every dealer is the same as far as warranty. Some will void it with just a CAI and no tune. Ask them before you do anything.

Where exactly is the ECM located on the car? I thought is was under the dash on the passenger side?

This make sense to me as if you had a ground fault you would potentially corrupt the software load on the ECU. If you guys know for sure that the tech is attempting to reprogram the unit before replacing it, then I buy there is something going on in a certain batch of ECU's.

But we all know any GM tech or dealer isn't going to get paid but so much time for working the problem so it will be easier for him to order a new ECU then reprogram it and call it day..

Some guys complained early on in 2013 of the main fuse block being lose with poor connections causing all sorts of issues. I checked and found mine all lose and tighten down all the connections and haven't any issues reflashing the ECU..

A lot of ZL1 owners have their ECM replaced that were STOCK ZL1's ... do a search..

Mines highly modified, and just happened to have found a great dealer who fix the problems under warranty both times...

My point is they say the ECM was FRIED or BAD , but gave no root cause to why ...

And prior to getting the ZL1 to the dealer both times, the ZL1 would start with hesitation (like starter going out is best way i can explain it)

It's my 02 cents, something else is going on , but cheap fix is just to say the ECM is bad, as a band aid as it does fix the problem (temporarily).

Between my 1st ECM failure and 2nd one with 14 months, only 900 miles was put on the ZL1....
