Shouldn't be a problem putting headers on that. That pick shows one of the exhaust ports right by the dipstick. Looks like the only difference is it is extended out and surrounded by a water jacket.

If it is like other recent engines, such as the Volt engine (range extender) the cat converter will then bolt right to those exhaust ports. Built into the cat/on top of the cat is more or less an exhaust manifold with indivual runners going to each port.

To me, that designs seems more like the exhaust manifold is integrated into the cat converter - making those two pieces now one. But if they want to say the exhaust manifold is integrated into the head...six of one half dozen of the other. There use to be three pieces - head, manifold, cat. Now there is two - head, cat. The manifold really gets integrated into both and sticks the cat real close to the head.

Headers should bolt right up there, tuning will probably be the real challenge.

There's also the fact they missed the 40th anniversary(not in production), so 45 is the closest one they could get to the reintroduction of the model line.

Ok, now I see, that port by the dipstick is going to be the only exhaust port on that side. With the other two cylinders feeding into it.

That is a seriously complex casting.

I got what he was saying. New steering wheel (while not as bas as Buicks of the 90's and 2000's) is weak. I like the '10-'11 style a lot more.

But I'm not sure what was hilarious?

All I can find is the 3.0L LFX, I guess that gives a good idea of the style:
3.0L is LF1, not LFX.

2. NAV, many free and paid options
3. Shopping Lists -- where do I need to go to shop, car items, groceries, whatever
4. Lookup facts when parked via the web and other content -- more and more people are mobile and an auxiliary touchscreen would be useful for a variety of reasons.
5. I would use an OBD scanner app & HW, but already own a handheld scanner
6. Bluetooth integration for limited phone use -- 5th Gen has it already

All these things and more should display from an iPhone (or other smart device like Android, etc.) on an bigger OEM Camaro touchscreen. Because GM has no option for this, folks are sticking iPads in their cars, but the mounts I have seen are a bit kludgy, even if they do work...

Would love to see more tech integration engineered-in, rather than an afterthought via aftermarket integration...
I am sorry but what happened to writing your shopping list on a sheet of paper? Lightweight, economical and does not need batteries.

Is that a shopping list for Best Buy or a new car?

So nope, haven't seen them. Although the side interior view kindasorta shows a small portion of the new font I suppose.
OK thanks Fen, unfortunately I am not there either. Will the new gauges just have new style numbers/graphics on the existing background or a new background too? And strictly your opinion, but do you think the silver/white gauges from Camaro Black will be used in the ZL1?

i think the wheel looks alright -- fbod or anyone who knows, will the center stack change? that's probably been my one issue with the current model.

by bluetooth standard, does that mean usb port is now standard as well, basically is the technology package now standard on the 1SS?

Look at the pics of the ZL1 and 45th in this thread. Looks like the center stack is the same...

eek yeah i saw the zl1 pics, thanks... same center stack in those. we'll see what the production model looks like... hopefully at least a minor refresh

edit: yeah i guess those are prod then? maybe i can get used to that center stack then

edit 2: a 1ss w/ tech pack standard would help me get used to the stack much more quickly

I guess with the way gas prices are going there might not be a 50th though

Well - -we did a 30th and a 35th Anniversary - so why wouldn't we do a 45th? (and then later a 50th?) It isn't an either/or.

As to fuel economy......something to soak on:

The year: 1979.

Double digit inflation......

Double digit INTEREST rates......

Fuel prices thru the ceiling........

Double digit unemployment.........

.........and we delivered over 282,000 Camaros (and that doesn't include Firebirds.....) -- AND - -the 2nd gen was now 10 years old!

Gas prices do not always impact cars like Camaro and Corvette.......
