First, ANYTHING that does not have a DOT certification is illeagal. Second Never Ever BLUE! Cops Hate it and they can easly nail you. Red is a little better as it is a fire department color but still bad. If a cop wanted to be an ass, even blue "ghost casper" type lights under the car can get you nailed. Just use them when you are parked and you will be OK.
