Coupe or Sedan? Sedan - I would go with the IS350. Coupe - I would go with the G37.

I had a IS250 sedan and it was a great car. Decent handling, low on power, but the IS350 has a 100 HP increase over the IS250. As for the IS350 coupe, on paper, it doesn't make much sense to me. 300 pounds heavier than the sedan with the same powertrain = slower car. Get the G37 coupe. More power, less weight than the IS350 - throatier engine too, looks better than the IS350 coupe. Hope that helped.

Probably driver's race.

If your friend's G37 feels like an Altima, put his tranny in sport mode (if auto), or ride in a G37S. They did that 7 speed auto right. Keeps the car in the power now. Fun, and pretty quick (about mid 13's). My fiancee has one and it's a great car. It's not a Vette, but it's no Altima.

that actually is a good question. you could also youtube this. unless you tried and nothing came up. i would think the g37 would take the IS350. but really have not researched the two.

If you're comparing the G37S coupe to the IS350 coupe - no doubt the IS350 would lose, but only by a little.

It's 200 pounds heavier, 25 less hp, higher center of gravity (due to hardtop convert) and it's 4,000 dollars more than the G37S coupe, and 8,000 more than the standard G37.

But the IS350 does look "newer" and it is a convertible (with a tiny trunk though), just not a fan of the back end.

It's all about what you want though. Throaty engine with a more driver's feel type car with the G37S or luxury interior with slightly more numb steering and quieter engine.

If you don't mind paying the for the lexus, trading a little less performance for more luxury and show, than get the lexus. To non-car enthusiasts, the lexus will definitely look much more appealing and draw a larger crowd with the lexus name and hard top vert.

If you plan on modding the car, get the G37. There's a much larger vendor support for the G37 than the IS350, and you got the added support from the my350z forums because the 370z shares the same engine.

There's a C5 member here who has a L99 2010 SS and he was surpised an IS350 kept up neck and neck to his car till like 80 mph.

Granted all the IS had to make it go fast were sticky Nitto Rubbers/ and intake/exhaust.

There is not a IS coupe, it is a hardtop convertible and should be compared to the G37 COnvertible which sees similar weight gains. That said the G37 is whatever form should have an edge. Sedan to sedan I believe they are similar weight with the G37 having a decent power advantage.
