Drag radial (tough one) must read
What’s up guys, I have a question for you.
My Camaro is a 2013 2SS Supercharged pushing 701whp and 620RWT. I’m running stock 20s and Nitto NT555R. I obviously blow them out through first and second on the strip. I was thinking on getting a set of radials. Maybe 17s or what have you but I’m not sure what I can fit and what I would have to do to run these? I’m on stock axles. Only mods are: motor and suspension. I’m running BMR lowering springs as well. 1.25” so I know that’ll be an issue with fitment. I just don’t want to buy the wrong thing. Thanks in advance. I ran Nitto drag radials last year. 20psi. Hooked great at Atco. 305/35/20.

If you do get it to hook those axles are not going to hold. The diff is next. Not trying to be the bearer of bad news but I would upgrade the driveline before the tires.
By selling the stock SS diff and axles before they break you can save some dollars.

Nittos are terrible for the drag strip but good for wear on the street.
Get some 18" Mickey Thompsons or 17" if you can get the right wheels to clear Brembos. |

I won’t be at the track more than 2-3x a year. Car is a weekend or to and from the gym. Nothing crazy so I doubt the axles will go. They 100% would if I was dragging and hooking them repeatedly. I should have put that up there, sorry about that.
Yes, the nittos have been trash thus far, I’m not going to lie. They’re meh on the street, no issues really except I have to feather it in first and second. I’ve even fishtailed at 80. Good for daily driving but they can’t handle the power. If I do drop to a 17 or 18”, will I have to do anything or can I just throw them on, go to the track and then swap back? |

Can drop to 17s or 18s, will need to tie back the e brake cable line.

18s - no problem. Zip tie the e-brake cable on both sides for clearance.
17s - you may need BMR adjustable LCAs, as you are lowered, I did. Also, tie back the e-brake cables. Weld 17x10 wheels are the best fir. MT ET Street R 305/45x17 are the best tires. Get ready to replace your axles and diff with ZL1 parts. |

Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice. I was thinking 18s and the MT 305s as well. I’m glad I don’t have to do any insane work for this set up as I figured.

The problem For me with the 17’s is tall tire options. There isn’t many choices above 28”. But that’s because I need less gear due to the turbos. With your supercharge setup, certain it’s a lot easier to get into boost. |
