"Safe" boost levels for stock bottom end?

Hey guys,

I'm currently running 9.5 psi on my L99 Magnacharged Camaro. I plan to upgrade to E85 and pulley down next spring but I'd like to know how much boost a stock bottom end can take? I realize this is a loaded question and it depends on how hard I drive, but is 13 psi "dangerous" or can our cars live at this level? I drag race 5-6 times during the summer and I don't want to worry about racing it. Just trying to get a game plan. The E85 will give me plenty of octane and I'm already running ID850's so fuel shouldn't be an issue. Just trying to be smart.

Thoughts.

Thanks!

I've been at 12 for a while and will be changing to the next pulley soon to crank it to 15psi.

As long as your tune is spot on, you should be fine. Theres a car on here running 919whp on a stock short block. Youll never hit that on a maggie so throw everything you want at it!

As on any ls3/l99 I always recommend valve springs, unless it's already cammed, as I have witnessed valve float as low as "8 psi".
Other than that they are fairly stout from the factory as long as tune etc. Is spot on.

Don't worry about boost, and more so about power. 12psi on a turbo, vs 12psi on a big centri, vs 12psi on a maggie is all different levels. Maggies have lower limits because of the hot IATs, and less efficiency compared to others.

Makes sense. So, if you were me, where would you feel comfortable with the stock bottom end? What power level?

L99 6l80 car I wouldn't push it much past 650rwhp IMO. Tranny will start giving you issues anyways much higher than that.
