2013 zl1 supercharger rattle

Had the supercharger replaced about a month or two ago, now this one is rattling also, just not as often. I get on the road and floor it, and the boost doesn't hit over 4-5 psi. Now the question is, does the boost kick in all at once when you get on it or at a certain rpm? Looking to bring it back in for another replacement... Thank you.

Probably just need to get the bypass valve properly adjusted

Aside from the boost issue, I'm concerned about the rattling more than anything. I guess I'll take it in, and ask to double check the bypass valve. Thanks.

I can hear mine starting to rattle which has me thinking it want to switch to a smaller pulley and solid isolator to gain a little more boost and get rid of the rattle..

Has changing the spring loaded isolator to a solid unit worked for everyone ?

Did you change injectors also ?

Go to your dealer and they will swap out the stock Eaton blower for one with a solid isolator for free. The new blower is covered under a warranty for several years.

OP-The boost comes in right away. It doesn't need more time to spin faster like a turbo. IDK 1/2 second? to come up to boost with throttle opened and bypass valve to switch closed and air start moving at higher velocity through the intake. Almost instantly by how it feels or by the time you look at the gauge.

Why change injectors question?

Unless there is a bad injector determination, missfire leak codes etc

No for preventative maintenance
No for wear
No to eliminate supercharger rattle
Yes to flow more fuel needed for next level of mods.
Good injectors with documented flow information needed to get a precise tune cost $$ so not something to change for no reason. Factory injectors are not known to be problematic so IDK why you asked.

@DRKS1D3 The dealer replaced the whole supercharger about a month ago, according to the repairs, I don't think they put in a solid isolator.

In theory, all of the replacement superchargers have a solid isolator in them already. You can always pull the belt off and move the supercharger pulley by hand back and forth to see how much slop you have, to determine if that is actually the culprit.

Correct RobZL1. The replacement Eaton blowers should all have a solid isolator. Igor, do what Rob said and check it for slop. My Dad had his replaced a few years back and has been rattle-free ever since. The original blowers simply had a poor design. Good luck!

It's all about the spring loaded isolator that connects the snout to the supercharger itself. I can't believe GM hasn't replaced the part yet with something that actually works. They just keep swapping the blowers out and people run into the same issue months later like op here. We have solid isolators in stock if anyone needs one and we can also do the work. If you are having us swap out a pulley there is no charge for the isolator install.

Unless they went back to a spring-loaded isolator for some reason, all of the replacement superchargers (and most 2014 cars and all 2015 cars) have a solid isolator from GM. Did something change?
