Thinking about filing a Lemon Law... So I did on 8/10/12
So here is whats been happening.
I have a 2011 SIM 2LT/RS. Delivery date 9/10/11, miles on car 500~ Summary of visits 6/1/12 to 6/4/12 - Duration 4 days Reason - Water leak in passenger compartment Solution - replace part for ac compressor (no details given RO is no help) 6/25/12 to 7/3/12 - Duration 8 days Reason - Water leak in passenger compartment, TPW light on (LF tire shows 29 PSI) Solution - placed under water for several days, no leak. Patched tire due to nail (Not fixed until 6/29/12 when tire was at 19 psi) **Gotta love onstar** Hand washed car on 7/4/12 and noticed a nick in my LF rim near the lug nut, and rust like spots in the paint on the RR "Hips" above the tire. Also noticed water in door jam during car wash. Took back to dealership..... 7/9/12 to 7/13/12 - Duration 4 days Reason - Found water in door jam of passenger door (Same location) when washing car. Explained paint issue - Response "We have to have our GM Rep take a look at that when they come" Explained nick in rim - Response "We dont have any tools in that area during a tire patching that would do that" Explained I am only getting 15.7MPG on a A6 - Response "we will look into that" Explained I found the leak - Response "great! We will put it under water and recreate it also!" 10 minutes later "We cant find it.... show us" 30 seconds later "Oh yeah, it is leaking there.... thats not normal" **Note - this is all during the drop off on 7/9/12** Solutions - Nick - NOTHING Paint - Waiting on GM Rep to make their rounds to this dealership. MPG - Cleaned out throttle body Leak - Placed order for new door seal ***BACK ORDER*** Picked up my car completely dissatisfied and wondering if I will ever have a car that does not leak and is free from issues. So what do you all think? Should I file a lemon law claim or wait it out and see?? I only have 5,850 miles on the car at this point. it sits in my garage when I am not at work. If you ask my wife I baby my car and take better care of it then I do anything else to include her and our kids. Attached is a video of the water entering the car during a light rain, as you can see the ground is barely even wet. http://youtu.be/03IboXKJbmw

You have several different issues. Find the EXACT lemon law definition for your state. It will have very specific qualifiers (time out of service, attempts to fix etc)
Good luck. Hang in there. |

I get water in the door jam when I wash too. Been happening since my 1st wash, it takes a few wipes so for me it's no big deal. I have driven I heavy rain and no water enters, only during car washes. That is a lot of water gets in yours.
Your paint issue. Post pics please I can visualize it but pics help a lot. Nail in tire>. Fixed Sounds like the typical garage at any dealership, they damage something, owner says hey look what happened, dealership Denies any wrong doing. You need plead your case to the gm or higher if need be. Sounds like they are trying to remedy the leak in your door jams. Did they fix the compartment leak? |

+1 Water is the door jam when washing is normal. Happens to me all the time. Like mentioned it only takes a few wipes and it's cleaned again.

Got a call at 830 this morning saying the part came in!
I rushed over to the dealership on my lunch break and dropped the car off, got a call in the afternoon around 5 saying the car was done and I could pick it up, so I drop everything and go pick it up. I did my usual inspection of the car to see how things came out and it looked good so I signed for my car and took it home. Fortunately/Unfortunately (depends on how you look at it) it starts to rain on my way home, and sure enough it is leaking... BUT WORSE! I cant win. I called the GM Customer service line and learned that my case is at the BRC and I should get a call tomorrow in regards to my visit to the dealership today. Brandon, I sent you a PM with my info and the case number.

Finally got some spare time and used my cellphone to record the leak. I used the same hose and pressure I use when I wash my car. I also was moving the hose around as if I were washing it, I did focus a little more on the area that I know the leak comes from just to get the effects but it was RIDICULOUS I did not know it was going to be that bad.... I have an appointment on Tuesday to take it in once again to be fixed.
This time I am getting a rental car and GM Regional Rep is supposed to be involved as well. I just want this issue fixed or a new car, I cant live like this anymore, I check the weather to see if I should take my car out of the garage to goto work or if I should take my wifes van. Not an enjoyable dream car.: cry: http://youtu.be/9TciVJZUHlw

Whoa! That would make me very unhappy. Good luck with either returning it, or getting it fixed to satisfaction.

I would show the dealership that video because that is just out of control.
It looks like you drove into a lake and it was sinking! |
