Will the METRA Kit still retain the Bluetooth feature for your mobile phones?

Does anyone know?

no, since the radio replacing the factory piece should have bluetooth built in, if not, you will have to get a bluetooth module, like a parrot or EGO.

Sorry but that is not true. If your car is equipped with Bluetooth your car will retain it with the Metra kit. If you car does not have Bluetooth from the factory you can add it by getting a head unit with BlueTooth.

Interesting so Jon does your double din have bluetooth built in to the unit?

If your double din does not have bluetooth and your phone still works then it must be built into the Metra kit.

Both head units I have certainly have no bluetooth function.

The Metra unit allows cars that are OEM equipped be able to retain and use the bluetooth feature.

My headunit is not Bluetooth but, since our car came with Bluetooth as a factory option we are still able to use it.

I have been working directly with Metra on this.

This is right off the PDF that LTlaudio posted on page 14.

The interface is a solution to add an aftermarket radio into GM vehicles. Whether the vehicle is amplified or non-amplified, Onstar, Bluetooth, or steering wheel controls, the interface can retain it.

metra does not make a stereo, it makes the dash kit that will hold a stereo. You need to buy a head unit in addition to the metra kit in order to fully enjoy the metra kit. Otherwise you've got a hole in your dashboard.

I am not sure how it works but it does. I took a phone call yesterday on it and it muted my stearo and I spoke over it.

See below on how to pair it..

Yes it works and you CAN sync your phone to it.

Here you go. Information that no one knows...

The PTT or Push To Talk button the on steering wheel.
You push and hold it down. After a few seconds the car will start to talk to you. (KITT) and tell you want you need to do to pair it with the car. It will speak the code that needs to be typed in...

I have other cool features that I will share soon as well..

So you didn't sync it with metra right? Looks like you have to sync it with original stereo before you remove it.
